Default Is repainting Prodrive wheels good idea?

Need advise on the refinishing of Prodrive P1 wheels. Local DiscountTire screwed up my gold P1s by scratching the rims while putting on new tires. Something about rubber protector on the fitting machine being worn out.

After complaining to the manager they offered to repaint the wheels at the body shop with a year warranty on finish. They refused replacing the wheels with new since my wheels are not technically new (I've had them for a while). I have no problems with refinishing my wheels, but I'm concerned if finish will be inferior to the original and I should press on for a complete replacement.

Any advise on this?

I would try to find a reputable wheel refinisher in your area. Not that a body shop can't do a good job, but a wheel refinisher is going to be more experienced with refinishing aluminum wheels than a body shop.
