Thumbs up I just saw the new WRX commercial

I just saw the new WRX commercial and it kicks some serious glutious maximus!!!

I'm sure that this is old news to the rest of you, but I just saw it for the first time. It's the blue WRX going though some tight corners and you can hear the car accelerate. Then they start talking about the car and the car goes onto a dirt road. As it starts to drift around a corner it fades into the WRC car... the 2000 version (not the new body style). Tight... very, very tight. Way to go Subaru!!! I'm so happy that I'm an owner

I just saw it for the first time too. The driver's style is very accurate and slick.
I think I saw it between commerical break while watching "3rd watch" or before David Letterman.

Did you notice that during the hard cornering while the new WRX in transition
to the WRC car? I don't know if it's my slow reaction or magic. Just when the WRC came into view, I thought it was the new body style WRC car. But after trying to focus my attention in milisecond on everything, then I notice the headlight is the 2000 model. Must see this again to test the reaction of my mind and eyes.

Does anybody know when is the offical launch date of that commercial? It would be nice if they have this commerical on tape for free at dealers. Can Berns make this happen for us?

Thumbs up

While watching the British version of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" on Comedy Central last night, I saw a WRX commercial, but it's not the one you're talking about. This one was just the silver sedan cruising through the mountains. The voice over was saying something to the affect of "You may have a turbo...You may have 227 horsepower...But it won't get you anywhere without the confidence of Subaru's all wheel drive" (I'm paraphrasing, but it was close). No WRC references at all.

I was actually really pleased to see a commercial dedicated solely to the WRX. Subaru's finally getting it's marketing act together, and it's because of us! Woohoo!

I saw the commercial on Comedy Central, too. It went something like this:

"Subaru's all wheel drive keeps you firmly on the ground, but with the new 227 horsepower turbocharged flat 4-cyllinder engine in the Impreza WRX, you'll swear you're flying."

What station was it on? Maybe someone can call the station and see when they have it slotted to play again. Then we all can set our VCR's .

if anyone calls and they give you the run around, give me the number & let me know. I have ways of "extrating" infomation out of people >

Hellooo!!! Yes, very nicely done commercial. I just saw it in the morning and also on Speedvision. One question...Why didn't they have a commercial for the 2dr Coupe 2.5RS? Hmmmm...make me wonder...Was it because it was a limited production car? I would gues...Anyway, I got a 2000, yes a 2000 WRX STi Ver. 6 (are there any more than mine herein the US? Original ones i mean =) ) from england, it is a 2dr, 2.0l 6speed pocket rocket...does anyone know how much PSI it is running? It is also a right-hand drive car. Silver/Blue seats with prodrive logo on them, and Prodrive stock 17x7 rims...Looks slick, wide body. I also own a 2.5rs which i will sell shortly =)

Cool

I just saw the commercial while watching the new Weds. Very nice! My wife was like, Ohhh, that looks nice.

BTW. Yes, that was the older style WRC shown.
I guess they technically couldn't use the newer WRC car , since it wasn't the one they were describing in the commercial that "earned" three World Rally Championship titles.

Hey, I'm watching the USTCC and GT stuff on speedvision right now, and have just seen all *three* WRX commercials. Two of them have the silver WRX, and one is the blue one with the WRC references. I was wondering what was going on when Poseidon was talking about what seemed to be a different "silver" commercial than I saw.

Anyway, there are definately three different WRX commercials. Very cool.

Subaru's just got tons of new commercials... I just saw a new one for the Forester. Paul Hogan's out in the woods with this big guy with a buzz cut, and the new guy's talking about his new SUV... "the biggest sport-ute on the road. Eight and a half feet wide, seats eighty-four"...

then they pan over to a school bus that's been jacked up with knobby tires, a brush guard, an entire RACK of driving lights on top, and a rowboat strapped to the top.

Paul hogan then looks at him and says "does it come in any other colors?"

"no, not really."

I got a kick out of that.

Anyway.
