Default Rota - Forumula + Falken

I just ordered a set of Rota Formula Mesh - 18x8 with 255/35 Falken FK-452's.

The only color available for the wheels was gold but I will be painting flat or satin black. I haven't seen many cars with these on and none in my area so hopefully it is something a little different.

Tire choice was made more by price than overall performance. I usually run a "max" or "extreme" performance tire on the STi but the 18's will be more of a cruising wheels. Hopefully they will suffice.

I will have pictures when everything arrives for those interested.

Jamie, did you get the Rota Formel mesh? or the Formula? They both would look great on your STi

Oh cool, yeah those are the Formula. Nice choice...nice change of pace for DD from your normal wheel/tire setups!

The Falken FK-452's are an "ultra" performance tire, and have gotten some really good reviews here. They my be less expensive, but their performance is on par, if not better, than a lot of much more expensive tires. You made a good choice. One question...are you planning to roll the fenders, because the 255's are going to be a very tight fit?

For the tires I was reading reviews on the UHP's and was having a tough time choosing. There were know test results on anything Falken as Tirerack doesn't sell. I had a customer in here with a twin turbo'd Vette that we were tuning and he had them and was happy with them. I thought if his 750+hp car was cool with them then they should work ok for my measly 400hp STi.

As far as the rolling goes, I currently run 255/40R17's on Enkei's and have already done the rolling to fit them.
