Default Buschur Racing Stage 1 and Stage 2 dyno graphs

Hi guys,

For those of you not following our testing in the 2.5 liter section I thought I'd come over and do some bragging

So far we have finished up our Stage 0, 1 and 2 for the Subaru. I realize tons of other guys are already doing this.

The dyno sheet below shows my 2006 WRX TR with our Stage 1 VS our Stage 2 kit on it.

Stage 1 is a K&N drop in filter, our 3" turbo back and our reflash.

Stage 2 is our 3" turbo back, reflash, cold air intake and uppipe.

The car is being dyno'd on our local 94 octane fuel. Still has the stock WRX turbo and tiny top mount on it. Nothing else has been touched or changed than what I have listed.

Enjoy the chart.

Thanks for reading.

David Buschur

Just realized the sheet is a little hard to read.

Stage 1 made 231 whp and 312 ft lbs of torque.

Stage 2 made 242 whp and 346 ft lbs of torque.

The car stock made 195 whp and 231 ft lbs of torque.

Yes. In the other thread, he showed that the stock up-pipe was still restrictive and could be improved upon.

Didn't Unabomber or others prove that the oem up-pipe is effective enough?

Not necessarily, the MD's can be setup to read close to DJ or whatever you want based on the parasitic multiplier or drum weight and size.. Either way, the MD is a damn good dyno and I love to use them.

Did Unabomber test it with a dyno? Free country, Dave can test whatever he wants. Stock may be effective "enough", but Dave showed clear improvement.

What does effective enough mean - does that mean each has a hole ?

I think that is like saying Rosie is "effective enough" compared to Fergie.

I think the point he was trying to make was that, just putting in an upipe would not net you the kind of power it didnt on the 02-05 wrx's. Also it is not something that is very easy to change, prob not worht the 4whp or watever you get out of it. Most people change them out when they do headers anyways.

Yes, this is the heart breaker dyno. It has NOT been calibrated to meet BS Dynojet numbers. It is just like MD set it up.

The stock uppipe on the 2006 WRX and STi's is catless. Doesn't matter, that POS is only 1.625 ID, way too small. The new uppipe increased torque about 15 ft lbs at peak. The car needed a re-tune after adding it.

All of the parts that I have installed so far are prototypes. I did not take pictures of them when we put them on. Within 2 weeks I hope to have all finished products. I will post pics when I get them.

Stock EVO9 makes about 210 whp and 210 torque on our dyno. This car made 195 hp and 231 torque stock.

We've gained as much as 150 ft lbs of torque in the midrange on my car.

which hole in the side fender well did you design your intake to go through? The hole closest to the headlight or the hole that the oem intake sucks through?

IIRC 700hpsti made some ungodly number on another dyno 660whp+ and pulled somewhere around 510whp on Buschers' Dyno and then ran a 10.9@137MPH.

The one thing I've always liked about the good old boys (Buschur) is that they always put up..not just some high dyno numbers but great track times.

Car looks nice so far, lets see what you guys get with a big turbo and a good intercooler...better start selling that along with a transmission

Bushcurs' and GSTs' dyno are the lowest around as far as mustangs go.

For the 2.0L de-catted UP vs aftermarket UP's that were slightly larger there was no appreciable difference in power gained. With 2.5L, you are pushing significantly more air and a larger diameter UP would be a larger benifit.

Awesome numbers for stage 2. Wish I had the money for an 07 WRX and a tune.

i think all the improvements are from the cold air intake
