News ProTUNER Partnership in Redmond, WA!

We're excited to announce that Smart Service has partnered with Dynoauthority (aka FAME) in Redmond Washington. You now have an official ProTUNER close to home. Tuning is performed by experienced tuning vetran Tim Hadfield. Tim's prior experience includes many high end European vehicles including a local Ferarri Enzo. Tim is excited about the infinite possibilities the ProTUNER provides to Subaru owners. Dynoauthority uses the same Mustang AWD Dynomometer used by COBB Tuning to insure accurate results.

You can read more on the subject at the following address:

Happy Motoring!

Tim is familiar with UTEC's also, having several tunes under his belt with them.

Give us a call @ 425-869-8324 with any of your questions.

Ooh, I'd like to know price as well. Stage 2 WRX, already on the OTS Cobb map, but looking for a bit smoother/more power.

Was going to go down to PDX, but this is MUCH closer!

The AWD tuning time is $195.00 an hour. Baseline runs are $150.00 and hour.

Have any rough idea how long it would take to tune? I saw your website, I see $25 for setup and $195/hr for tuning, but have no idea how long it would take to tune.

I was going to go to PDXTuning for a tune, and I am still leaning towards them due to their expertise and overwhelming good reviews, but Redmond = 15 minute drive instead of a few hours drive.

Also, a friend has an Evo IX with a ECUFlash tune on it, just installed cams and is looking to re-tune it. Do you guys have experience tuning Evo's?

I can attest to Tim's abilities to tune Subaru's. He does a great job. We've used his abilities at Speedware.

The OTS maps are really pretty good at stage 2. If you're looking to smooth the existing map out it shouldn't take much more than an hour, two at the most. You are more than welcome to come down and meet us and see the facility. Tim is very detailed as a tuner and is actually in progress with his eg33 in a GC8 chassis.

As far as the Evo goes, we do not have the ECUFlash software. Tim is looking into some open source software, but to be honest with you the COBB AccessPort will be out for the Evo's by then which will be awesome! He has tuned several Evo's with UTEC's & had great results also. After seeing the COBB ProTuner software, in my opinion there is nothing better on the market for the money.

No problem Gabe!!!

As far as I know Tim has no personal experience with the Hydra. but, as you saw, he is a fantastic and detailed tuner. Im sure for him to learn the user interface for that system would be no problem. The reason he has not used Hydra is that Phil from Element Tuning came out and did a group tune a while back. Let me know when you guys are ready and we'll make it happen for ya!

Yeah FAME is a great place. I sent a friend there with:

2002 WRX

TBXS UTEC
TBXS FMIC
TBXS RFL BOV
Turbo Smart Manual Boost Controller
Perrin Intake
Perrin Fuel Rails
Warbro 225
PE 650cc injectors
Crank Pulley
Borla Header
U-P and D-P 3" exhaust

262 WHP. He said they did a very good job and the money was well worth it with how much tuning and pulls on the dyno they did. I am looking for a place to tune my Hyrda and I have a couple other people I will be sending your way in the near future.

True, and the rest of the story will tell you that we got a 50+ WHP gain from tuning!!!! Not to mention the major difference in drivability.

Yes, Tim has tuned with water/meth injection on several occasions. In fact hes working with a Maserati BiTurbo with the Aquamist system right now.

Which system are you running?

So for one hour of tuning it would cost what, $220 for the first hour and $195 for subsequent hours if needed??? And yes I saw your post of $195 an hour for dyno tuning and $150 for base runs which confused me somewhat. So please clarify as I would only need a tune which would have one base line pull and many pulls for the tune...

We don't charge by the "pull". We just charge by the hour. If you want to have your car tuned, then we just go off the tuning rate. I realize that if we had to charge by the pull it would get very confusing. I hope this awnsers your question,
