Default Magnecor wires

I am "newbie" and the owner of a 99 Forester L. I have a question about Magnecor plug wires. If I understand their fitment guide, I need part #45350 for an EJ253 SOHC engine and I do not have to worry about the "male-female" ignition block issue. Am I correct? This forum has been helpful in convincing me to get Kartboy link inserts and upgrade my rear swaybar to an 18 mm one. These 3 things are as far as I am going down the "upgrade trail".

Thanks.

If that's all you're going to do, there are alot of products that will show a lot more benefit for the $$$ than wires. If you're set on wires try www.cyberauto.com They have impreza (same engine, so it will fit) wires pretty cheap.

Peaty,
The scooby.mods site gave me the "courage" to try the drop link insert installation. Did the Magnecor wires fit as well as the stock? By doing a search, most of the people seem pleased with the wires, but a few complained about the fit of the boots.
Thanks.

Mine fit OK, the boot itself has that large outerpart that didn't fit as tight as the OEM boots but I haven't had any problems in over a year. I wish the magnecore wires had a more positive snap when you install them too. at first I wasn't sure I had them on all the way. Getting off the OEM wires is a bugger though. They are on there very tight. Look at the spark plug removal guide on our site for some hints. The thing is if you car is relatively new don't expect any gains from the wires. You'd be better served putting your money elsewhere. I'm not sure about the Forester but my car had Champion plugs as stock. Those I removed right away and put in some NGK copper plugs. ( NGK BKR6E-11) I have a thing about champions I just don't like them personally.

I'm not familiar with the Sparco wires. Are they custom or do you have to cut them to size? I'd steer clear from any wires that you have to put together yourself. I had bad luck with those type in the past.

I'm confused. Why are you upgrading your plug wires, exactly?

I only did mine as a preventative maint thing. Magnecore are lifetime replacement and I got them for a good price.
