Default How to disable or remove a/c compressor?

Is there a way to disable the a/c compressor without removing it? Is it safe to run with the a/c compressor disabled or removed? Any helpful links on how to remove or disable the a/c compressor. Thanks

Roldan

Depends on what your purpose is. If you just want the AC to never run, you really don't have to do anything. The compressor isn't engaged unless you either turn on the AC or use the defrost mode on the HVAC. At all other times the compressor clutch is disengaged and the pulley is freewheeling, with no load on the engine.
If you want to make absolutely certain it will never engage, you can just unplug the electrical connector that goes to the compressor clutch and that will be the end of it.
If you are looking to save weight for competition purposes, then you can physically remove the compressor along with the other accessible AC components, but you would first have to discharge the system.

Or you can remove the drive belt to the compressor.
