Default YOUR definition of a Sports-Compact

If you read our Top 3 sport-compacts of the 90's article, you may have noticed that the term "sport-compact" is really broad and unclear.

For our next article, we're going to define this term. We're posting on different forums asking car enthusiasts what a sport compact really is. Mainly, we want to address cars such as the miata, 240sx, MR-2, and other coupes and 2 seaters that could or could not be in this category.

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Compact = A compact automobile, which is bigger than a subcompact but smaller than a mid-size. The vast majority in this day and age are FWD with a few AWD.
Sport Compact = a sporty/high performance version of a compact.
Examples: Subaru Impreza WRX, Honda Civic Si, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, VW GTI, Dodge SRT-4.

RWD 2-seaters like the Miata, 240SX, and MR-2 more properly fit the definition of a sports car and are not sport compacts.
Examples (in what you probably consider the "gray area"): Miata, 240SX, MR-2, S2000, 350Z, RX-8, Solstice.
