Default Correct Wheel/Tire Size for 99 Impreza

Need some help guys, I'm wheel/tire shopping and trying to figure out what setup I can run w/o having any rubbing issues, or affect the comfort of the ride too much....Can I go 18's or too big? What tire size should I run with either 18s or 17s...I do not have my car lowered as of yet, so the gap is pretty decent....Any help i'd def appreciate it

I asume an RS or just a "L" Model? Either way 18's will fit and even 19's but I wouldn't go that big. Right now I have 18's and they are size 215/35/18. The offset I believe is +48,wait maybe it's -48, I can't remember. I would have gone with 215/40/18 but because my intercooler piping runs right in front of my wheel I would have rubbed with the 40 series tire. Here's some options you can run, there's probably alot more:

-215/35/18
-215/40/18
-215/45/18
-225/35/18
-225/40/18
I'm sure 17's would be the same.

NADM 99 RS2.5 Impreza = 205/55-16

Most Turbo 99 Imprezas elsewhere in the world = 205/50-16

Sup little brother.

there is a good chance you will rub with 18s and any additional suspension work beyond what you have stock in that L already.

Hardly nobody runs 18s with GC8s.. mostly the later models with more accomodating wheelwells such as the GDB and later run 18s with no worries.

Good luck!

I'm sure if you rolled your fenders it wouldn't be as bad or might elminate the rubbing all together if you ran 18's.

Depending on what width rim and tire may net you some rubbing. 215s are generally safe and 225s may rub a bit. You may need to roll your fenders. Also keep in mind that 225s or 215 widths actually vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

also what are you planning to run suspension wise? coilovers offer a bit more clearance but maybe overkill.

on the safe side go with 215/17s
