Before you get a protune ask your tuner what they like to work with.

You'll need some sort of EM, I have the Prodrive solenoid and tuned the boost myself with UTEC.

Again ask your tuner but you can get the GM BCS for much less $$ and it does the same thing as the Perrin, ie. works in interupt mode vs. bleed mode for the stocker.

Yes they are, as is Agile, and I'm sure there's a few others too.

My Perrin EBCS is setup using "fast response" which doesn't use a restrictor pill. I did this because it is what my tuner prefers. However, some tuners will want you to set it up using "slow response". Its all a matter of tuner's preference.

BTW, you can usually find a used Perrin EBCS for really cheap in the For Sale forum.

Accessport is just a flasher with base maps. You can have it protuned to any combination of upgrades etc.But yea, if you'll be adding upgrades that are out of cobb's map's reach, then you'll be needing pro tuning.

Visit the Mid-A forum. Every tuner and AWD dyno is contained in the sticky threads. Research more as well. You don't just go swapping the BCS willy-nilly because others have. You can swap it out to the latest whiz bang BCS and it will still net you 0HP over the stock one. This is something to discuss with your tuner NOT us. As well, there are many different ways to control boost that you need to discuss with your tuner IF you need those measures. Read my Boost Control FAQ if you need a good starter.
