Default 04 sti rear clunk... SAS gold plus?

I've searched, and didn't turn anything up. I'm curious if the strut clunk will be covered by the SAS gold plus? all i saw mentioned was the front struts, but i didnt see anything about the rear. stats on my car

04 sti
48,000 mi
bone stock suspension

i asked to see the previous service records before i bought the car, i saw that the rear struts were replaced in june 05 by the previous owner. and 'mysteriously' the service records have all disappeared from subaru computers. They informed me that service records are not traceable by VIN, but by customer information. I cried bull*****, but gave them the customers information, but it 'only brings up info on his new car'...

but, yeah. clunk? sas?

Thanks

BS I find about the "not able to find records" try to get in touch with the dealer that did the work and have them sent to your dealer, and you if possible.

If not, I think its covered by SAS gold...I think.

hello there, just read this post with interest. my o3wrx sti type uk has now had 3 nearside & 2 offside strut replacements. i am based in the uk and this is a very common problem over here. 2 of each were replaced under warranty however the last one was replaced out of warranty. after a couple of phone calls to subaru uk i managed to get them to pay 50***37; of the costs involved.
i wonder if this is a worldwide problem with this model of subaru?

if you have SAS then have your service advisor run the part number to see if it is covered.

I know on my system (ADP) the history is deleted after a year has gone by without seeing the vehicle. Not really BS, just how it is. They could be on a simular system set up.

If i am out of warranty just like he is and my sruts are clunking too(why am i speaking hypothetically, this is REALITY ) am I up ish creek? for subaru to fix it for me...it's been clunking for a while, i just didn't mind it as much until now.....i figure the only way to get around this is to get coilovers....but i would rather just get new struts on warranty....btw, i have 40,000 miles

I believe it specifically states struts aren't covered, but I'm not at home to see the wording they used.

Subaru Added Security (SAS) should cover it but you will definatly need to take it in to confirm. Also if your suspension is stock you should have no issues.

Struts are covered on added security gold. They can trace all warranty work in subaru.net. So that is bs. Find a dealer that is competent and get it done... for FREE!!!!

Take out the strut inserts, clean out any dirty grease, add GOBS of high quality, lithium grease, re-assemble, and enjoy clunk-free struts. Or you can fight the system and get another set of struts that will clunk so you can do it all over again.
