Default Megasquirt?

Has anybody tried the MegaSquirt products? I am in the final phase of my supercharged 2.2t engine to put in my Porsche 912. I am very interested in using meagsquirt for it's implied simplicity. Replys needed

Not many folks have experience here with Megasquirt. I've mostly seen folks on the 914 boards use it for Subaru swaps...

"MegaSquirt is intended as an educational project for those who want to learn about electronic fuel injection." from http://www.megasquirt.info/

never heard of it or anyone using it, not usually a good sign. good luck though.

Look in the engine management section. Supposedly, the code is being developed for the subaru's funky trigger setup so you don't have to go with a seperate crank trigger setup.

There are a few folks who have successfully got the MS to work using the Ford EDIS ignition components.

Maybe nobody is using it in the Subaru community, but that's a pretty small community. Megasquirt is very popular and used extensively by people doing the kind of stuff the OP is doing - mismatched engine swaps. It's cheap and very, very capable.

I'd never heard of Hydra before I saw the name here, and I've never seen anyone actually using Hydra. Not usually a good sign.

I know a guy who develops code for that. You can do a lot with those, but you need to be willing to learn not only everything there is to know about how your engine works, but how to write some software for it too.

I have built megasquirt V.2 at home, and use it on my turbocharged Subaru Justy. I do not need to use it on my 05 EDM STi as stock ECU is far more powerful than megasquirt, and I can reflash it with opensource tools everyday...
