Hey everyone,
I dropped off a pair of skirts to Loomin's shop today for painting. Chris said he can't paint the black rubber thing on the top cause... well... it's rubber and the colour won't be right and I imagine that the paint will be prone to cracking on the rubber. If my car was any other colour, I would just leave it, but mine is aspen white. I think it might stick out like a sore thumb. So has anyone painted their skirts and found a way to deal with that black stripe of rubber? And Chris, if you are reading this, I am not talking bad about your work in any way , I just want to see what everyone thinks.-KC

Painting won't work.
Your options are to either have it stick out or order a new gasket that is the correct color... |

I searched on the forum (I searched,
, be proud of me haha) and people said that dealerships don't carry the colour matched ones. Seems that dealerships only has the black ones. The colour ones only comes with prepainted skirts (eg: from subarugenuineparts). I suppose it won't hurt to go down to the dealership to ask though. -KC |

That strip isn't meant to be painted. When Loomin painted my skirts for me
he took the strip off, and glued it back on after. Haha, he HATED that part ![]() |

I had mine painted with my skirts originally, and it looked good for a few years and then it started to fall apart... got my skirts repainted now and I've ordered a whole new set of mouting hardware and strips (over $100 worth of bits)...waiting for spring to install it all

I left them unpainted as well, I believe the 05+ has grey stripes where 04 or earlier models? come with black. I suggest you leave them because they would look ugly once the paint chips.
