Question Does Non-Subaru Key Fob Work?

I did a search but didn't see this question asked.

My used car dealer aparently gave me a couple GM key fobs with my RS. I know I should have tested them at the dealership, but I guess I was too thrilled to find the car that I wanted to care.

I tried the programming sequence that is listed in the manual. The locks respond during the sequence, but then the fob won't do any but chirp the alarm when I hit the unlock button.

Will a non-Subaru key fob work with this car?

Thank You!

I would call your dealer and ask why he gave you GM key fobs. Perhaps they installed a non-Subaru keyless/alarm system.

I'm sorry, but what is a fob?

They're referring to the little alarm/keyless entry remote that attaches to your key ring.
