Painted em 2 at a time cuz i only had 2 jackstands. I painted my calipers as well.. gave me something to do while i waited for the wheel paint to dry. Did it all on a suby DIY day with a few friends. There were 4 subies and a bmw we were all working on which also helped to pass dry time. Here is a pic.. please excuse the diry rex

EDIT: Added 2 more pics of what they look like all cleaned up

Oh and his tails look like they have rock blocker tint on them, similar to mine only I did half instead of the whole.

My tails are tinted using Hotsubaru (NASIOC vendor) stealth smoked tail kit. They also have one for the 3rd brake light in the wing if you have one. Its actually a quality tint film and it cut pretty well. Even my sceptic buddy who told me to return them before they even came was impressed at how much better they were then most kits out.

So I painted my wheels graphite yesterday. Pics to come. It took me about 6-7 hours of labor over 2 days. They came out pretty good. I only messed up on one spot where the paint pooled on my finger and dripped onto the rim. I had to wipe and respray over it is not bad IMO. The clear coat made them really pop with this color. I would say they are an 8 out of 10. I'm happy since its my first large paint job.

I read AcquaCow's thread on Repair and repaint of his BBS wheels and that answers everything. But I have another question. Is it easier to paint the wheels with or without tires? What have most people done?

I'd say it's easier to paint without tires because you don't have to mask them off except for the bolt hole threads. If you do paint with the tires on (like I did, and many others have done) use index cards to put between the tire and the lip of the rim around the circumfrence of the wheel. I don't know whose idea this was initially, but it works very well. I don't have a pic, but I think there are a few in this thread. Oh, and if you do it with the wheels on, don't forget to mask off the valve stem! unless you really want it to be painted...

Hey Guys, I will be painting my 2005 WRX Wheels. The car is Black, and I will be painting the stockers flat black and lowering it on DF210's. I can't wait to do it, but out of all 18 pages, there was 2 05 style wheels that were painted, and they were both gold. If ANYONE has a pic of black 05 wheels on or off a car, please post it. I am really interested. Here is a couple of shots of my car now, with a drop and black photoshopped wheels, should look sick.
John
