Default How about a 2006/2007 NBA thread

it's after the all star break and I'm ready for the playoffs.

I see Dallas or Phoenix coming out of the brutal Western Conf, Pistons or Heat coming out of the dismal East.

NBA haters, please stay away.

I thought the All Star game was entertaining this year. Slam Dunk was good too except the judges sucked bawls. Jordan was horrible as a judge.

Ha! I said they need to move the rims up to 12 feet last night. It's just too easy for some of those guys now.

Fixed.

Sorry .

If you think you might like basketball, watch college ball. They do play defense and actuall pass the ball to teamates on offense (a shocking concept, I know).

yeah, jordan was biased against the big man. dwight howard's dunk with the sticker was nice, deserved more than a 7.

the east jerseys were good looking. I want one of the warmup jackets. very clean.

I played basketball on a few teams when I was younger, my point is if its going to be a big man's sport like football lets make their playing field a little bigger.

Phoenix will not win. With or without Nash = No Defense. With Nash = try to outscore every team. Hasn't worked before and it won't work now. Nash is good offensively but has no D.

SA or DAL come out of the West. My darkhorse is Houston. They are playing good without Yao. Also, Utah is playing well.

East, I'd like it to be the Bulls since I'm a Bulls fan but I don't see it happening unless they make some major move soon. DET, MIA, WAS, ...???

Yeah,Howard had the coolest dunk of the night, but Green's first dunk was nasty, and the whole Nate Robinson cut-out thing was great. He deserved the title.

The All-Star jerseys were MUCH better than last years....

Phoenix and Dallas are in the West finals save a major upset.

I can see Miami and Detroit in the East finals.

the trade deadline is thursday I believe. still reading rumors of gasol to chicago, but I don't think it'll go down.

kidd to the lakers? I wouldn't think the Nets would make that move, but I could be wrong.

Well all of you that picked miami out of the east, guess again. Looks like wade might be out for the season with a dislocated shoulder. It doesnt matter what team gets out of the east anyways, they will win 2 games tops. I really want phoenix to win, and offense can win championships. Take note of the lakers that won 5 times in the 80s. Houston has been doing really well but i just cant see them getting past the second round, they will be a tough out though. I say Dallas and Phx in the western finals with Phx taking it. If they need an important stop late in games marion will get it done

From your post you obviously dont watch the NBA. The NBA is changing, call it an international influence i suppose. The phoenix suns way of playing is taking over and teams are following suit, like the Toronto Raptors. GM's are now building teams that have skill players and shooters at all 5 posititions unlike trying to get a 350 lb force in the middle. Please watch a mavs or suns game and tell me people arent passing.

mavs have won 17 straight. spurs have won 12 straight. yao is back in houston and he put in 37 points last night. suns are continuing to play good ball too. the western conference playoffs are going to be brutal again.

They should have traded Odom when they could've.

I want the Suns to win the championship now, but only because they have Usher.

P.S. KG, please come to LA...

I still think the Nuggets suck. They have had a few good games but I don't expect it to last. Hopefully the Jazz start winning again and don't let the Nuggz pass them (we're about 8 or 9 games up now. Probably won't happen.)

How about that Suns vs Mavs game the other night? Steve Nash is incredible. Amare Stoudamire is amazing too.

That was a hell of a game. I was a little bummed about Dallas losing, but not bummed at all by the way they played.

Picking an MVP this year ought to be interesting.

Yea the western playoffs are going to be so exciting. The only entertaining thing i see in the east is lebron going nuts again, last year he was incredible in the playoffs. I want want phoenix to win it all but would be happy if dallas does too. I think dallas might have a better shot, but man marion can play some D down the stretch for the suns

Lebron and the cavs finally turning it up. Arenas and the wiz are slowing down.. they need to turn it up come playoff time. Both east and west playoff races for the final spots are interesting even though the east's records suck. Detroit playing great ball right now too.

I think Dallas will choke again in the finals and either Miami or Detroit will come out strong and take it. As much as they don't look like it, Miami is simply one of the best playoff teams in the league because of their veterans. Shaq, Zo, Payton, and Walker get those youngins whipped into shape. I can see the Heat winning it again, especially if Dwyane Wade comes back for the playoffs which he should. The Spurs are getting old, and are boring as crap to watch, but they could still come out strong in the playoffs. Neither the Mavs nor the Suns will get the ring, IMO.
