wow. you guys know how to crap in a thread!

spec C roof vent. I like it. It's made for ventilation because most rally cars do not have a/c or air or anything.

I'm just trying to understand why he would do that.

If you need ventilation (the reason those are on the real Spec C's in the first place), why not just crack a window?

guess he wanted/likes the look. Damn why harsh on other peeps rides.

Why does this have to start all over again. He wasn't asking for an opinion of how it looks.

You should post pics of your ride so we can tear it apart.

Wasn't me. There's another wingless black Evo around town with sweet holes in his stock trunklid.

I went wingless the right way. As far as I know, I'm the only Evo in town with a C/F trunklid.

Not harshing out...just asking questions why. This is where the common misconception is.

Not sure why it matters, his ride, not in a car show. Making someone feel bad about how they mod their car doesn't make for happy relations. That's all I'm saying. Could it use some paint? yes would I put the vent on my car? no but that's the beauty of living in america we can do as we please with what we own. Just like you can say what you want about someones ride. The only thing is pissing off people that we all talk to and hang with isn't cool. Let the man have his vent and be happy with it. (steps off soap box)

actually, Marlons wasn't the one who installed the vent, Zach and Josh did.

I guess when I do a modification to my ride, there's a reason besides "because I liked it."

I'm not trying to make him feel like **** for having a scoop, just asking the question why...which on this forum is always met with "BECAUSE I WANTED THATS WHY."

my point being, why does it even matter? it's his car. who cares. There are plenty of Subies and non-Subies that I find ugly and POS. but if the owner likes it than who cares what I think? Why should we base everything we do off what other people think? Can we not think on our own or do we require a poll if we want to make a decision now? *shakes head*

I can freely admit that there are MANY things that I do, only because I can. There is no WHY, it's just because I can so I will.

Sure, you can think on your own...but there has to be another reason to do what you do other than "because I like it."

Or maybe I'm just that different.

Nope! On this one you are just not that different!

There are many individuals in this world--and certainly the car world--who QUITE SIMPLY just want to know the reason why. Most often, for no other reason than to know WHY--just tell me why?!!

Could be the way someone engineered something on their car to solve a problem, why a mod was done or something was added they had never seen on a year/make/model. Most often, the person who has done the work is proud, excited or "has a story" and is more than willingly to share why without choosing to get their feelers hurt and have their friends defend their decision. This entire questioning of an intention is bewildering--just tell "the why" you did it! Or, at least, that is what I thought your intention...

Heck, it isn't even my mod on my Subie and I could no doubt give a list of "why" I might have done it. Just wait until you'all see the rally lights on my Subaru!! And why...simply because I saw them on a European Rally car a number of years ago and thought they were unique, different, uncommon, and sexy strange! LOL
