Unhappy Replacing Windshield

I was passing a Semi over Snoqualmie Pass and I got a big crack in my windshield from a rock. My insurance Deductable is 250, and they qouted my windshiled at 210 from Safelite. Anyone have any recommendations? Good places to go? Cheap prices? I heard that they are having trouble with this partivular windshield, fitting, and they are on backorder. I have a 2002 WRX sedan. Thanks for any suggestions.

I had the same thing happen to me a few months back. The windshields are not the problem but the gasket/trim from Subaru is. That will take longer to get than the glass itself.

I still have a 12" crack in my car and will live with it till winter is done I think. I was quoted about $360 a few months ago. I'm glad the prices went down.

I just got my windshield replaced by Empire Auto Glass. Yes, they are the company with the cheesy comercials offering 24 free dinners to Cucina Cucina. They came out and to my house for the install 2 days after I called them and they were very fast and curteous. I would deffinately recomend them. Also, they charged me $180 including tax for the windshield, where as I got two other estimates for $230 and $280 for the same windshield. The free dinners are a bonus, they are essentially a coupon for up to $10 off any dinner Monday - Thursday. Empire also gives a lifetime warranty on the entire repair. I say give them a try.
