Exclamation WARNING: Ultimate Pontiac in Fredericksburg

I needed two parts for my bugeye sedan, a front bumper and a driver's front fender,so i went to the local trusty Subaru stealership. I rattled off a few part numbers to the parts manager, which he said were good numbers, but needed my VIN. I went home and got the VIN, then called him back. He looked up the parts on his computer and placed the order.

Once the parts arrived i took the big boxes to the paint shop who the recommended, who did an excellent job matching my MBP. Once the parts were done, i went to pick them up and they were not the parts i needed. They are a front bumper for an 06 Impreza wagon, and the fender is for an 06 Impreza sedan.

When i went back to tell the parts manager Melvin that he ordered the wrong parts, he simply said, "You gave me the part numbers, I just ordered them." So i went home and pulled my SMS messages off of my cellphone using USB cable and Bitpim(i had since erased the text i sent to myself of the part numbers from my phone) and found that the ONLY numbers i ever read to him, or had in my posession were the ones i in fact needed. Front bumper and fender for 02 Impreza sedan.

After finding this last night, i called him back this morning and his attitude hadn't changed. I told him that i have no idea where the part numbers for 06 sedan/wagon came from, but i had never even seen those numbers till they were on the inside of the pieces he ordered, and that i DID in fact read him the parts that i needed. Melivin told me that since he placed the order and hes the parts manager that theres nothing i can do. I gave him the part numbers so I'm short $1000 now.

I told him that this is not my fault, i gave him the right part numbers, then on top of that gave him my VIN. His attitude was basically that i screwed myself, so i told him my next options were to contact my lawyer and/or the media(7 on your side FTW!)

He then told me "Well, if thats the route you want to go with this, then this conversation is over." So i left a voice message on the Owner of the dealerships voicemail, as if that will do anything......

If anyone has any ideas, or input as to how i can get this righted, or has a MBP 06 impreza wagon or sedan and needs those parts, please post.

BE WARNED! DON'T ORDER ANYTHING FROM ULTIMATE SUBARU!!!!

Part Numbers Ordered:
55504FE020 Bumper Face 2006 Impreza Wagon
57110FE210 Driver Fender 2006 Impreza Sedan

Parts Needed:
57704FE020 Bumper Face 2002 Impreza Sedan
57110FE070 Driver Fender 2002 Impreza Sedan

The Wagon/Sedan thing should have been a huge tipoff to him (beyond the whole VIN/incorrect part numbers issue). Talk to the owner/manager. The parts guy is only going to care, if his boss cares. You made a mistake by threatening to talk to go to a lwayer next, especially if you are not willing to do this.

Sorry, I thought this thread was about a Pontiac car. Sounded like a sleeper 400hp Solstice or something.

Get a copy of the purchase order. See what VIN is attached to the purchase order. If there is an 06 VIN on there, that dude is done. Take paperwork to General Manager and it should be over with little fanfare.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1205955 has insight that may help somewhat for ordering/reasons why.

Call your credit card company. Tell them your situation. They might hold the charges until the situation gets settled by both parties.

your def. not screwed. Get in contact of the general manager...think about it...WHY in the world would you ever order 06' parts when u don't own one? 2nd. you gave him your VIN # which would define you AGAIN not having a 06'...you can get it worked out, play it cool and go talk to the right people.

Theres no way you should submit to losing $1000 for his mistake.

Not to be an ass, cause I may have done the same thing, but I take it you didn't verify the numbers prior to leaving with the parts?

Bingo. Always open the box to verify what you ordered is what you got. Yes they could have sent the wrong parts to the dealership for you and you did not verify this when you picked them up.

However, threatening to talk to a lawyer is not a good idea. The dealership has lawyers that work for them and are willing to be enacted, so you cry wolf, you better be ready.

Basically, if you read the original post, you might've seen the word "bugeye" which refers to the 02/03 Imprezas. So no, they didn't have an STi (or nowadays STI) wagon, nor the "2.5 I".

Sheesh, is everyone in the Mid-A a bit ornery today? I'm sure if we dug up everyone's first batch of posts, we'd find some gems....I know we did w/ rhdude, who ended up becoming a moderator. AND had a buyer/seller issue with you, Rudy.
