Default Power steering pump pumping air?

Yesterday my brother changed the upper radiator hose on his 2004 WRX wagon. and now the power steering pump is groaning and pumping air and foam into the power steering resevior. There are no power steering leaks that can be seen, and don't recall touching anything on the power steering during the install of the radiator hose. And no the belt is not slipping. I can't seem to figure out what the hell is going on here. or why.

Bleed the system by turning the wheel lock-to-lock with the vehicle on the ground. After several turns the noise should be gone. hth
