His time isnt that bad for his trap speed. But he could definately improve by 0.2-0.3, maybe even 0.4 with lots of practice. You can compare here.

http://www.scoobymile.com/index.php?...ch_results=200

I have run these times in my STi
60' 1.7
1/8 8.4 @ 78 mph
1/4 13.4 @ 97

60' 1.770
1/4 13.3 @ 99

Man u guys need practice. Hell on my stock 06, I've gone 2x to the strip (haven't been in 4 yrs) and ran a [email protected] and it was heat soaked like a mofo (my wife and I trade off running the car, so it doesn't cool down).

Seriously, a stage 2 06 WRx should eb a [email protected] or so with a good driver. Protuned into the 12's easily.

I bet you pull off a [email protected] or something. Learn to shift faster man, thats all I can say.

91 octane don't make that much difference. Seriously, practice and he could improve alot. I did about 100 passes on my 02 WRX. Sometime around my 45th pass, I got that [email protected] The first 2 times out I didn't break 14. My first run ever in my 02 with the MBC was a [email protected] thats a whole 7 tenths inprovement with just driver practice. The rest of the times after that, I didn't run a 14 unless I mis-shifted.

It takes MUCH practice.

Hehe. You made a mistake. Nice diggin though. That was in my 02 WRX with just an MBC! I am trapping the same or higher at times in my 06. Just haven;t been enough times to get the launch down. I ran a 14 flat at 96 so far in my 06 stock (went 2x to the track, ran a total of 8 times).

I made 2nd place next to V6TurboTa for fastest 2.0 WRX with just an MBC. So there. Gimme a stage 2 06 WRX and I can guarantee I will run at least a [email protected]

I can't find my post of my 13.7, but as you can see, I ran 13.8's consistently. After those runs, I went back often (ran over 8 13.7x's) and either my record post was deleted or I can't find it (It was posted in this forum). I also posted it in early 02 on the sticky thread (must have been deleted). There are others on here that can verify my drag racing skills and road racing skills. I'm not a pro driver or anything, but I'm better than magazine writers.

Looks like proven power bragging forum only goes back to 2003?

... ok ...

asking what you will expect to run is ... well, not for this thread here...

Variables come into play anytime you ask for people's opinion- You can run numbers all day, and you can ask for what 'you should run'... but the more important part of the race is your personal skill level.

some other things that might come into play...

altitude - baro pressure - temperature - and size of tires... - just a few things among many...

thats if you dont break anything in the process -

.... basically, when you go to the track and get your time slip after you race, scan it, take a picture of it, or project what you raced - then post it up here - then await the gazillion analytical views from each person on the forum.

Not trying to be rude or blatent here, but I've seen this same post up on the proven power bragging thread a million times... it just kind of gets old.

You wont know until you race. When you do race, if possible, run a data logger. This will give you more feedback than anything anyone on here could suggest for your time or possible improvement.

... lastly - if you want to go absolute and run really fast drag times - Buy a V8 and have at it. You'll save money, and you'll get there faster.

best of luck to ya!

If you did not have EM with those mods or an MBC on it, thats pretty good times man actually. If you have it mapped stage 2, then you should practice more.

I have you by 0.4 and your only 0.3 mph less than me, your time/trap is not that impressive especially considering I have to go into 5th gear. And yes my car should have traps of 104-107 mph but when I raced the density altitude was 5200+ feet, hence the low trap speeds.

I have you by 0.4 and your only 0.3 mph less than me, your time/trap is not that impressive especially considering I have to go into 5th gear. And yes my car should have traps of 104-107 mph but when I raced the density altitude was 5200+ feet, hence the low trap speeds.

Yeah Yeah my bad. What altitude are you at? However, I think you could improve working on your 4th to 5th shift. I know stis are damn harder to drag than wrxs, so i give you my props.

BTW, now agreed, we are both pretty good drag racers. Better than average at the least.

hey gabedude ... pretty clean times. come to vegas ...2000ft on 91 and see what you run. It sucks, I consider myself a pretty good driver and ran a 13.1, 1.7 60ft, @ 103. stg2 06 sti. on 18" volks. FWIW I got a buddy that moved up here to vegas after being tuned in dallas... he lost almost 40 whp.

97 mph is not all your sti could have done, you have to admit that. If you woulda had a better shift to 5th, your mph woulda been higher. The last part of the 1/4 doesn't tell much on our cars. Each has a dead zone between 92-103 or so. Its partly because of overboosting in the 3rd to 4th shift in a wrx. Prolly the same in an STI. Or you just rode 4th to the rev limitter.

Yeah I'm at 500 -1000 ft here. SAR is 550 ft elev. Each time in my stock 06 wrx its been humid as hell. Car ran like ****. I have my openport stuff goin on now, so I def understand how humidity, altitude, etc can effect the motor. Best bet is all meet at baytown near Houston. That's sea level. Our cars haul a$$ there man.

The track is at 2710 ft, but its in the desert and usually 90+ degrees and the density altitude is usally at least over 4000 ft.

I have seen stock STi's run mid 14's all day long with 1.7-1.8 60 foots.

People that come up from other places down by LA say they lose 0.5-0.7 seconds at the track in Lancaster.

Damn straight, but be glad you have a turbo cause NA cars are terrible at altitude, much worse than non turbos.
