I dont know if this will help but I have access to directtechs so I thought I would take advantage for you in case yours has been removed and you want to go to an aftermarket peice.

No, that's the intergrated module to the left of the steering column. The keyless module is on a metal bracket directly above the fuse panel. I believe it has a single white connector on it. Sorry, I'm at work and can't do much in terms of pictures.

It is located to the upper right of the fuse panel. It should have two plugs, a white one on the left and blue on the right.

at least for the '05.... I would guess if it's missing you'll see the two plugs hanging there. If you see two boxes that have all the plugs there, then it should be there. I beleive if you get under the dash and press the lock button you can hear it click (that's the relay).. may be wrong with that... but then if it's missing (or at least not working..) that may not work

Should be ABOVE the fuse panel under the dash, the plug is coming out of the left side of it.. its up almost wedged between the dash and the top of the fuse box.. It has 1 10mm nut directly under it between it and the fusebox, take that out and you'll be able to remove the module..

Just a note that the alarm system (and presumably keyless entry as well) was changed for MY04 on Imprezas.
Here's a .pdf of the installation instructions for the MY02/03 keyless entry that should help you out: www.armands.net/Other/2002ikeyless.pdf
