STi inside...? ;)

Default How to run low-sub 15s and 0-60 between 6-7 sec..

I have a 2001 RS - I want to run 14s with a little luck, and realistically low 15s. Also I'd like to run 0-60 in under 7 seconds.

How should I go about doing this for the least amount of money?
I'm already getting an unorthodox pulley, a Cobb tuning intake, and GReddy Evo exhaust..

Headers? Cams?

Thanks in advance..

Thumbs up

Least amount of money??
50 shot of nitrous. $500

Repeatable power...
PRM intake $50+shipping
High flow panel filter $50 (k&n etc)
Local exhaust shop 2.25" catback $250 ish
Cams $500 + install (maybe you can DYI?)
Borla headers $430+shipping

You'll probably be able to run high 14's low 15's easy on that setup. Cant get cheaper

We can modify our cams by ourselves?

Sure just take 'em out and hit 'em on the old grinding wheel! Note, your results may vary...
Seriously, not unless you have a very good knowledge of cam design and access to a lot of very expensive, specialized equiptment.

This is what I have on my My01 Impreza 2.5 RS:
Larry Ganz CAI w/ K&N panel filter
UD Pulley
Borla Headers 2nd/3rd gen (not sure)
Stock Cat
2.5 SS Stromung Cat-back
SS Dual tips Stromung Exhaust

I have 18,000+ miles oil changes every 3k and I get 15 flats all
Daylong.

I got all this from some guy on this board for 600 even... yes its second hand but... the exhaust system alone is more that everything that I got.
My best advise for you is to look in the Private Classifieds on this board... there are tons of people who have bought stuff that either ran out of cash or some bills came in that they have to pay... so start saying your prayers.

All I have to do next are the Flywheel and Cams... The next best thing that I've been reading up on are the Cobb Cams... some guy explain about it on the board and I was impressed...

The Best improvement I must say was the CAI and Muffler alone... I did those myself and was imprezed... shortly after that I had the rest put on by Ralispec and they were happy too with my setup... less the CAI unit... which I must say they do have a better setup than mine. Reason being is that my friend owns the same car that I have and the only mods that he has done were the Rallispec CAI Unit and their Magna Flow Muffler. That's stock headers, stock cat, and cat-back, stock pulleys, cams and flywheel.

In the end I think I'm pretty much at Cobb's NA Stage 2, after the Flywheel and Cams I'll be on Stage 3 but I'm not going with the piggyback system... too much bs I think, the MY00 and 01's ECU changes/learns all the time... what I've heard is that the piggyback system keeps on telling the ECU the deal and that's where you get the performance, same goes for the S-AFC... now that's nice dash ornament. No really itís cool to have ricey things to play with along with your radio. Anyways I hope that helped in finding what you wanted to get out of you car... oh and to get in the 14's is simply NOS... But lets all be creative about it... its too easy...

with sub 15 second ET's you'll probably have ~ a 5.5-6 second 0-60.

by sub 15's you do mean 15.06... right??? haha j/k yea whatever I don't care really I smoked my friend's 1.8 turbo Jetta three times in a row... but that bastard figured out that smokin his wheels at take off isn't goin to beat an AWD car, hahaha HAHA! Once he figured that out I was dead in the water... but I must say for my setup and expence ($600) its the best....
