Default I gots me a new ride (Warning, non Subaru content within)

kablow!

1987 Dodge Daytona Pacifica.

2.2L Turbo (what BOV should I get!?)

"Pacifica" Suspension...(supposed to be "better/upgraded")

T-TOPS! used these for the first time today and i love it.

i have a bra for it too which will go on soon to cover the front end paint blemishes. other than one single dent all ugly marks will be hidden.

shes a little dirty from the weather and i have studded snows on the front for now (they were free). the car is relatively rust free as well. it was trailered up from somewhere in PA by a local MOPAR nut i know and has been garaged here in MA since last summer.

interior i clean as well and retains its spaceship status. plus needs paint as the top clear is flaking off...like every other dodge of the era.

anyways, just thought id share.

FWD.

there are more dirt cheap upgrades than i know what to do with.

plus everything that is bad for subarus, works great on these from what i understand so far.

for the time being its just transportation but ill start playing with it springtime.

LOVE the long overhangs. That aggressive, athletic, coiled stance crap is for the birds.

Maiden tape, Fishnet Half-shirt, Bandanna hanging from the rearview.....Hampton/Revere Beach betta look the F out !!!

Do you regard this as just some cheap "winter-beater" / experimental toy to play with for a few years or are you potentially serious about restoring it to its true factory show room condition ?

ive already started buying/pricing working OEM replacements for interior electronics that have died and replacement rubber for exterior dryrotted rubber & trim (very hard to find btw! luckily i have a great contact w/ lots of access to mopar parts) also monday i will be contacting the best dentguy in the area to take a look and massage out my one dent i have in the car.

anyways, im very aware of what i found.

however, i will also take advantage of the 9million mopar performance parts available, while keeping the outside and inside appearance showroom stock.

Very good. I would also encourge you to get her up on a lift, and look her over very carefully for any potential signs of body cancer. Stoping rust before it can start is in the long run much cheaper then replacing floor pans, etc...

Take good care of her.

Wow, it looks way better than you described it last weekend. I'm actually shocked.

Great find. Can't wait to see it in person, or at NED doing FWD burnouts.

Does it have a factory LSD?

I had an 86 (recessed headlights but non-intercooled turbo) and loved it. I got skeered because timing belts were a potential issue and traded for a CRX. There's a plastic piece in the shift linkage that goes every 50k miles or so. These things are actually pretty decent on the track (I ran Briar with mine). Mike Campbell runs one with COM in SSA. I think he's spent about $18 on it over the last 8 years.

Btw..if it got an A520 gearbox, a quaife for a 1st gen neon fits perfectly, and will fit with some grinding in other td gearboxes with some tweaking...if you're on the cheap side, buy the OBX ripoff of the differential and replace the washers in it(they break) and bam, you got a cheap quaife copy. I'm still working on an 87 CSX I bought 2 years ago (yeah...no money till now) fixing the rot is the worst! Good luck, they're fun, and convert that mofo to turbo II electrics/put in and intercooler if you can! Btw...if you got any questions...I might know where to point you, got a few friends in MD and DC area who are hardcore into these cars.

I've got an extra wing for that if you need it.

(sadly, I'm dead serious, I was going to chop it up and put it on my scooby. Thankfully, then I found NASIOC.)

Ahhh, the memories. I used to rock an '88 Shelby Turbo back in the day.....pretty fast, for a heavy car.
