AEM Short Ram (00-01 RS)
Item: AEM Short Ram Intake (silver)
Price: $160 (shipped?) From: Gunn Performance Racing (I think I messed that up... I got it from Alan.... Handle = Gunn) Well I did it.... I broke down and bought an intake (second one, first was a Weapon-R... it didn't fit the car worth crap.... returned it).... I purchased the AEM from Alan on Wednesday and it was sitting on my door step Friday before noon (shipped from Houston? to Dallas).... I had excellent service with Alan... He said he would ship it out that day, and he did.... none of the typical BS from individuals who "try" to have a mail order business.... the whole experience lasted 4 days from the time I asked for a price.... VERY EXCELLENT. First impression: I had an AEM for a different car in the past, so I expected the same quality from the product. AEM has changed the air filter design since I bought the one for my Prelude. The velocity stack is no longer adjustable, but this is hardly a complaint since I would have adjusted it all the way out just like AEM has already done. The tubing is aluminum and the powder coating is top notch (Weapon-R chipped off real easy). AEM putsa sticker on the tubing of the AEM logo, butinstead of leaving it bare ot be dinged and chipped during instalation, they leave it covered in thick paper.... very nice. Driving impression: I forgot how awnry the car can sound. I have no other external sound mods (no exhaust, headers, etc.), so this is a straight impression of the AEM. This thing is loud, but so is any other intake.... but that is a good thing, right? I have heard people say they loose "all [their] low end torque," but I would venture to say that they loose that through their exhaust or some other source. My car still pulls just as hard off of the line and now pulls significantly harder to redline (I have bounced off the rev limiter more in the last 3 days than I have in the year before that). I have no "hard core" dyno results of any kind, but for the price, I would say you would be hard pressed to find a better intake for the 00-01 RS. ~~Casey

I just picked up one of the intakes on E-bay for ***** and giggles until I find out a good one for my MY99. I bought it for 60.00 and have been working out of town so i havent had a chance to install it yet. Ghomer1 I am trying to go down to baltimore to V6Scoobies shop next weekend and meet up with Rudy to see if i must have the Cobb Cam if i have it done in time we can go for a ride.
