Hydra on stock setup (turbo/fuel)?
I did a quick search and came up empty on this topic.
Few questions to you all. *I was just wondering what hp can be had with a Hydra on stock turbo and fuel with 3" tbe? *At what psi will the stock injectors maxed out (too lazy to do a search, thanks) ? I figure if I can get close to 270-280whp with the stock set up on 05' STi it may worth it? Because I will need one with a rotated turbo in the next few years. This way I don't need to spend $ on a standalone when the time comes? TIA.

1. About the same HP as any other tuned 05 STI with TBE and no Hydra.
2. That depends on the AFR and the ambient temperature. |

Every dyno is different but on the dyno I primarily use OEM injectors are static around 295 whp. On other dynos this number is closer to 330 whp. The boost pressure will vary so it's not accurate to use.
Take a look at this thread for a really nice setup I ran on my 06 STI. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1174748 We only had 3 modifications, Hydra, Hydramist, and a TBE. Thanks, Phil www.elementtuning.com |

Thanks Phil, this is the kind of info I was looking for.
So without Hydramist, I could expect to see 270whp? What do you think of the Turbosmart 3 port solenoid? I have couple of those sitting here which I may hang on to for the Hydra if they can be made to work for the stock Hydra setup? Quote:

You're welcome. The Turbosmart solenoid is excellent when used with the E-Boost but I don't know what the frequency range of the solenoid is so I'm not sure what to use. The Hydra has two options, a low frequence which is around 80 hz and a high frequency which I believe is 100+ hz.
Even without the Hydramist you will have no problem hitting 270 whp and should be in the 285-290 whp range with again the fuel injectors and TMIC being the main restrictions. Our base map takes into account the limitations of the OEM fuel injectors. Thanks, Phil www.elementtuning.com |
