not replicas, but the stock parts off my car. they've been "taken off," hence "takeoffs."

the reason for the clunking, commonly, is that the spring gets taken out of its perch off the upper strut top. this happens somewhat regularly because the strut top is made of a pretty soft rubber material, so any significant jolt to the spring will remove it off the perch, leading to the clunking. this is the conclusion that my install guy and i came to.

when i removed the struts, you could visually see that spring came off its perch. none of the other corners exhibited this problem.

so, a simple solution is to simply compress the spring for the strut in question, then move the spring back into its perch.

if you're willing in invest a little bit of money, you can get group-n mounts, which has a harder rubber compound.

let me know, at this point i'm willing to part ways with all four corners for $300 even.
