Default HID in morettes

I just picked up some Hella Gen3 ballasts, i have the H7 adapters, bulbs are next. Does anyone happen to have a wiring diagram of how these ballasts will integrate with my morettes? The headlights were on the car when i bought it, so i did not wire them, and therefore am not very familiar with how they are wired as is. TIA.

Ideally, ballasts should be wired on a separate relay harness. I know it's been covered here in the past. Run a couple searches and see what you come up with.

Please be aware that there is a difference in HID and halogen projectors. Again, run some searches and read everything you can find before you start messing with your lights.

You don't really need a diagram. Connect the ballast negatives directly to ground, and the positives to the common headlight power. Done.
The relays in the Morettes don't really come into play any more so you can just ignore them.
You can use relays for the HIDs if you want and it won't hurt, but it adds unneeded complexity and added parts and connections to fail later on. With properly done wiring less is better.
My Morettes have been wired this way for several years.

OK, got all my parts here. On the ballasts, there are 2 wires (obviously), however, they are white and brown. How do i tell which is pos and which is neg?

Could you post a pic of the lights after the conversion? I read the same postings about halogen projectors and HID projectors being different etc.

I'm on the fence on whether to get an HID conversion or get JDM HIDs out right for the car.

I started it yesterday, and it seems the bulbs are not going to fit. They are standard Philips D2S and i can't put the bulb clip over the base, this is with the D2S/H7 adapter or without. I will be looking at it again soon, but right off the bad, they didn't seem like they were going to fit.

The clip will fit, but it's tight.

How tight? Because it looks like there is about 1/4" extra on the base. Should i just keep pushing down until it clips?

Put the bulb in position (make sure it's seated properly) and gently pull the clip past the pins on the side of the bulb. It's spring steel so it won't break, just don't bend it too far or the bulb will be loose.
Mine have been firmly in place for several years, I've had the bulbs out a couple of times as well.
You'll only have an issue if you need to put halogen bulbs back in, if so you'll need to bend the clips (gently) back so they will be secure.
