If it is a bug eye than it will not fit.

Ver 7 were bug eyes and so was 8.

Ver 8 was the peanut eye,, not the bugeye. The bumper should fit fine.

You sure? Most JDM parts distributors account for the difference when they market an item, but the JDM market, as far as I know, is one version number ahead. The bugeye is Ver 8, and the blobeye is Ver 9. My 2001 Bugeye STi even has V8 labelled big on it's ECU.

It's always best to make sure by using model descriptions. You can use year, but again there is a one year discrepancy. Japan and rest of world, except U.S.A., bugeye 2001 to 2002, blobeye ran from 2003 to 2005. U.S.A. bugeye 2002 to 2003, blobeye 2004 to 2005. Again most distributors account for the difference when dealing with a U.S. market customer base.

There is a very high probability that the bumper you are getting will be correct, but assumption isn't the way to go. Make sure it is for the blobeye, and if possible send a pic of your model to the supplier if you want to be sure, especially when shipping a large item is involved.

JDM v8 STI is definitely 04 body style. I have seen JDM v8 sti front clips in person and v8 front bumpers in person. Definitely NOT bug eyes.

Tons of info there. ^

The predominant difference between Japanese Ver. 8 and USDM ver. 8 is that the JDM ver 8 was a 2.0 liter and the USDM is obviously a 2.5 liter. Both are peanut eye.

v7 = bugeye
v8 = peanut eye
v9 = the current model out
