Paint curing question...

So I had a cf hood and traded with someone who had a freshly painted wr blue hood. I have a pretty good eye, and could tell that the new hood was just slightly darker than the bumper, feders, and the rest of the car. That was about two weeks ago. It seems like the more and more I look at it, the more and more its becoming more matched to the color of the rest of the car.

Is it possible that in the curing process the paint under goes minute changes in the shade of its color?

Yep, I had my hood painted to match and slowly (every week) it seemed to get a little darker. It turns out that the paint isn't "truly" dry for a couple months.

Weird stuff.

Well mine is the opposite. Its getting lighter and lighter (starting to match more and more to the rest of the body's paint). Get it?

Paint shouldn't change colors at all once it's cleared and dry with the exception of fading. It will sometimes look different in the can before you spray it, then it'll change once it's sprayed and cleared. I can't really explain that but what ev, it matches now.
