Default WRX IS Automobile Mags Car of the Year

Just received my January 2002 issue and it is on the front cover. Very nice article inside titled the "Joy of WRX". You must read the review!

it's interesting how things work... while reading the newest issue of CAR (UK), they absolutely hate the new-age WRX... heh, everything is relative...

Yep people are still hanging onto their old style WRX/WRX STi every where else. To us WRX is like the greatest thing but to them its a newer but slower WRX ... why would they like that?

Question

Does anybody have a link to an article about this? I bought the magazine, but I want to send an E-mail to a snooty BMW owner to rub his face in it. I'd rather include a link then just spout off about it myself.

www.automobilemag.com is the main site but December is the most recent issue on the website, so I don't have an article URL for you.

Yeah, I couldn't find one either. I was hoping somebody had posted a secondary news article about it.

Thanks for looking.

I've been to like 3 bookstores and all they have is a version with the SVT Focus on the cover "America Tunes Up!" and "oh, by the way, the WRX is car of the year" up in the corner.

Am I the only one? Does Ford own Minneapolis? What's going on... Not that its the end of the world or anything but why would they do that?

Maybe it has something to do with being relatively close to Detroit?

No, the newsstand version is of a red Focus and the subscribers get the Subaru Cover...and what a beautiful cover it is...I just saw the Focus Cover at the airport NewsStand...

At first I thought it was a midwest/Detroit thing too, but I guess that makes sense; the subscribers - "car people" - get the WRX, while the average newsstand passer-by gets the red/white "go america!' version. Given the international climate people are more likely to stop and look at that than some funny-looking silver import.
