you have me raptly attentive and very curious about this product.
i've followed the e85 thread since june of last year and based on my reading.. i blend e85 to 30% in my stock saabrx and love it, talked members of my team into trying it(00 b18obd1 swapped civic, 02 supercharged rsx-s) with happy results. we all love the power gains with minimal mileage loss/cost ratio. ;-) if this additive would allow me to use more e85 blend or a e85 only in my saabaru that would be splacktacular, or with a minimal mod of the higher flowing walbro fuel pump that would be nifty. living in extremely hot summers of the nevada desert i notice a power decrease when ambient outside weather temps get above 110. ive considered the sti injection just for cooling purposes alone.......... if use of the mms = more e85, and better fuel economy out of my saabrx.....ill pick some up to give it a shot..... we're all curious to know what the deal with this stuff is all about . keep up the awesome work and let us know when a plausible release date would be so that we can beta/acedyno test the mms for ourselves. cheers david Last edited by flatlynr; 03-16-2007 at 03:16 AM. This sounds really interesting and as I have an e85 station just down the street, I am really thinking about upgrading my fuel system to take advantage of that situation. Problem is, I'd have to tune myself as there isn't a tuner anywhere within like 2 days drive from here meaning I'd also have to afford a wb02 which I can't atm.
Would this stuff allow us 2.0 guys to run e85 with stock injectors or would that be pushing things a bit? I know we can go up to around 30% with stock stuff as is so was just curious. |

I know some folks around here were playing with Acetone but that was with regular fuel. Some saw up to a 30% increase in mileage.
It was supposed to break up the surface tension of the gas and all it to better atomize and more completely cumbust causing the front O2 to suddenly start reading more rich. As time goes on and closed loop tuning adapts to take advantage of the front O2 constantly seeing things too rich the fuel and ignition maps adapt and give you much better gas mileage. I wonder if it works for Ethanol as well. I was at a car show about a year ago and there was a booth set up with an older couple selling an additive that boasted some of the same properties as what basic Acetone does. Except they were selling bottles for $35-$55 that were "Super Concentrated". Can you confirm that this product is not just simple nail polish remover? Brad |

I am led to believe that tuning will bring out more goodness in your mix. BTW, I have some idea of what you are doing. I have been studying hydrocarbon combustion for a few years, and everything you describe is possible with the right burn dynamics. I am very curious though why Ethanol enables this behavior, because lots of people have been trying this with gasoline for decades with no major improvement. |

I didn't retune the 91 Legacy. If anything I just did basic maintenance. I'm tempted to throw in larger injectors for full E85 use but I'm just not there yet. Retuning would definitely bring out the goodness, as would an actual high compression motor
. I think I could push 35mpg+ opening up the engine a little bit for better breathing. |

But this stuff seems remarkable, and I'm so far out of my knowledge base to even judge it on technical merits, the only thing I can do is judge based on performance. I'm hoping in time this whole thing opens up, and everyone and their mother can run tests, and we can get positive responses from everyone. While painful, I think the skepticism is good for the product in the long run. |
