Default cruise probs from DRL?

i just want to make sure this isn't an issue, so anyone with more familiarity with the wiring underhood would be very helpful. once upon a time i disabled my DRL's by unplugging the drop resistor on the right strut tower. throughout the whole time i've owned my car, my cruise has held the throttle open at very random intervals. seeing as the DRL plug is remarkably close to the cruise unit, i wanted to make sure that having the DRL unplugged at that location would not cause cruise issues. i have since reconnected that plug and disconnected the DRL's behind the glove box instead, since i'm looking into doing the headlight/relay mod. i just want to know if i should bother hooking my cruise linkage back up just yet.

copied my post from the cruise recall thread:

***********my throttle sticks open as well, and it's very random. it'll stick for about 5 seconds, then release. i had the cruise recall done looooong ago, and that's not the problem. when it happens, the idle will also hover between 2k and 3k rpm. last time it happened (high idle), i looked under the hood and saw the cruise cable under HIGH tension and partially pulled open. i rotated the throttle closed, and it pulled itself back open to a high idle condition. i've never seen under the hood what happens when the throttle sticks open, but i'm willing to bet it has something to do with the self adjusting cruise control. btw, during all these instances, the cruise was NOT in the 'on' position. the bad part is, if subaru can't see the problem happen in front of them, they won't fix it. they believe there is a problem, but don't know what to fix 'till they see something broken. which really bites, because i'm waiting for the damn thing to try and kill me AGAIN. i've had so many close calls, it's pathetic. i absolutely love my car, but if it's this dangerous, it is a piece of worthless junk. i've contacted SOA to see what they can do, as the local dealers just don't seem to care that i may lose my life in this car. as a little test, after my last subaru visit, i disconnected the cruise cable. if i don't have another near miss in the next 6 months, i'll know EXACTLY that was the problem.***********

The DRL disconnect, whether the dropping resistor or main module, will have no effect on the cruise. If it's physically sticking there is something wrong with the cruise cable or module.
