Default How to Install Hella Supertones w/o relay

Just want to make sure I wire things up correctly.

Do I just splice into the existing wiring for the OEM horns?
And obviously ground each Hella horn.

Is this all there is to the install without a relay?

No need to cut/splice the factory wiring- just get two spade connectors, four of the spade receptacles, and some wire. Run a negative wire from the spade connector to the two spade receptacles and push them on the horns, then do the same for the positive wire. It doesn't matter how you put them on the factory wires, they'll still work.

My car is a 2006 Impreza, therefore I have 2 discs for the horn. So its basically plug n play? Just buy 4 male spade connectors, 4 female spade connectors, and a lil wire......and I'm set?

Also, by not using a relay will this cause any issues or be hazardous?

Yeah it's just plug and play. The Hellas need to be grounded, as was already said, and you can just take the wire from the stock horns and hook it to the other hella terminal. I had to extend the wire though in order to place the hellas where I wanted them.

It's been documented in a few other threads that running it without the relay is not dangerous and will not harm the car, they just won't be quite as loud.
I'm running mine with no relay and trust me they are plenty loud.

no relay is fine. Some say the horn is just a little louder with the relay...I couldn't tell the difference so I didn't bother making a seperate harness for mine.

There is a thread on here that tests with and without the relay from different distances.

With the relay its only 2db louder then without at best I believe 116db without and 118 with

Ive had the horns hooked up both ways. They are louder when using a relay, however the extra wiring mess isnt worth the loudness.
