Talking

Likewise, lakepop. Here's hoping for a better 2002 for all after a 2001 that's been difficult for many.

How many of you are lugging Christmas trees home atop your Foresters? I will be once it stops raining.

I lugged a fake one home from Wal Mart last weekend. Does that count?

Thumbs up

Absolutely it counts....its about having the holiday spirit .

Moreover you have saved a tree and shouldn't have to chase one down again next year.

A special time of year for lots of people ......HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I managed to put a 3 seater settee on the roof of mine the other week! I also got an armchair in the back with the seats down too.
Has anyone carried anything bigger?

See, Lakepop, in South Florida, where I live (born & raised), Christmas isn't the same as it is for you Yankee types. Enjoying a "white christmas" in Miami will get you 10 to 20 federal. I'm not even sure what a "chestnut" is, and anybody named "Jack" anything even TOUCHES my nose, and we are gonna have WORDS!

Getting a "real" tree isn't the same here either. You Northerners get all bundled up and trudge out into the snow to pick the perfect one, then cut it down and lug it back to your car, and on to the house, right?

In So. Fla., you put on your sandles and shorts, trudge out into the 85 degree-95% humidity and pick the perfect one at a tent set up in a parking lot, then you pay a rediculous amount of money for the priviledge of having the thing die in your living room over the next month, slowly covering your living room floor with dead pine needles.

And if you ever wondered why they call them "needles" just step on one barefoot as you go to the kitchen at 3:00am in the dark for a glass of water. Nothing kills the Cristmas spirit like that.

Try to have a Merry one anyway.

Unhappy

Well I do at least recycle them. Always had an artificial tree when I lived down South. It was raining yesterday when I drove out to a nursery lot where they had about 100 precut and on stands, picked one out, had a guy wrap it in some kind of netting, then threw it on the roof rack, tied it down, and drove it 3 miles back to the house. Yeah, real macho
