A real flimsy plastic. They are basic flaps, not intended for rally, or rallyX. I put these on my g/f's Forester, but will not put them on my car.

NO! You want the UR's. You want something with flexibility and forgiveness.

UR's FTW!

Yeah I have the basics. I got them a year ago, and now they are all kinds of warped and bent up. I havent done any rallies or anything either, just playing around a little and daily driving it. Go with the UR's, which is what I'll be doing too.

For that job, mine have worked fine. Just like I said though, they ended up bending. It's like warping I guess you could say. If you are only going to use them for winter, or dont care how they look, then yeah, they'll do just fine.

They work for a daily driver, but they will deform from daily use. They are pretty thin.

Do you want stones, mud, sticks ect.. kicked up into your fmic core, possibly putting a hole in it? I know I wouldn't. But hey, I'm N/A so I'd just be happy with some boost.

There are numerous reasons for this
1) added cost of FMIC setup
2) loss of bumper beam support/foglights
3)FMIC core prone to damage from road debris
4) and most people aren't running turbo's big enough to neccesitate a FMIC,

I just got this via email this morning. This is me on the Eric Jones Memorial Rally. I took pictures of people for a little while. Most people had waves to the level of their fenders, a couple people got the splashes up to their rooflines. Me?

Yesterday, I had probably two dozen of them, minimum. Gravel and tarmac. That's the only one where you could see the road though, the rest were all entirely covered in wet leaves. They were also all completely blind and most of them had a ~200ft drop with no guardrail or shoulder at all if you got even one wheel off the road.

Go to NAPA, order some 24x24" blank semi-truck mudflaps ($14 each) and make your own flaps for less than $50! The material is pretty much indestructible and you can make the flaps as big as needed. Worked great on my legacy.

Yeah you could do that too. There are quite a few write ups on dirtyimpreza.com about making your own mudflaps for cheap.

Here's some pix of my car, 95 Impreza L with front end swap, suspension 04 sti struts with 02 wrx springs this works great plenty stiff and a good 6 to 7 in of clearance, I also have front and rear strut bars and 20mm wrx rsb bar, and rear disk brake swap.
