Default how to kill DRL?

Hey guys! my gf's bro just got a set of HID's for his 2.5 RS but i have no idea how to kill the DRL on a 2.5. WRX yes but not on a RS. need help from the RS gods!

take out the fuse. generally there is a fuse. i wouldnt know 100% though because mine hasnt had DRL's since ive owned the car. i pulled the fuse on my old civic though when i put my HID's in otehrwise they go all strobey.

What year RS are we talking about anyways? If it is 02+, it is the same as the WRX of the same year.

You'll have to drop the glove box, but in behind it take out the relay labeled D R L.

just do a search.. it's located underneath the glove box.. iirc it was not labelled with anything.. just gotta recognize it by the color.. unplug it and it's done..

I just did this last week on mine, just drop the glove box it's about 8 screws and it is labeled drl. A white plug if i recall.

well... this was not car. 2 years ago i just got my car so i askied. the link you sent me is for a 01+. if you have noticed i am asking about a 99 RS.

sounds complicated.. heres how i did it

-open hood
-in the top left corner behind the strut tower there is a black plug
-unplug it
-profit!

That's not the "proper" way to disable your DRLs though Wojtek You should unplug the white DRL harness under the dash behind the glovebox.

yeah, i looked down yesterday and there's around 4-5 white plugs...

i didn't want to mess with the other plugs....my hunt continues...

I don't think the underhood method works with aftermarket HIDs, and it will still flicker. The under dash method will work 100%

well what we did that was so easy was that the HID came with 2 wires that pluges right in to the stock lamp socket so no cutting and no daytime. took only 5 mins to install.
