Default So, I finally decided to...

remove my trunk emblem and repaint it
I've actually wanted to do this for several months, but never really had time and strength to do it
Anywho . . .

1) Remove rear trunk center emblem. This took quite awhile. I didn't imagine that the emblem was that tough to remove. I used a blowdryer to warm up that subaru gray rubber glue so I could pry out the emblem. I tried using fishing line, and then some thin shoe laces to wedge it in between the emblem and the trunk, which helped greatly.

2) After you remove the emblem, you gotta drill a small hole in the plastic bracket like so:

Rear side of the plastic bracket - Cell phone pics, crappy quality.

* ONLY drill enough, so you can reach the six star emblem piece. Yes, there's actually 2 pieces to this emblem. (The plastic bracket, and the six star blue emblem). Once you drill enough to reach the six star emblem, use a small tool like an alan key, or small screwdriver to poke it out)

This is the front side of the plastic bracket. You can see, it also has the gray rubber glue attached to it.

The six star emblem piece is now out.
3) Use sand paper, ( i used 80grit), and sand that emblem until all the blue is gone. Only sand the back of that emblem, not the front. (sorry no pics here).

4) Once all the blue paint is off, you'll see that the six star emblem, is now clear of any blue paint. Wash it off with water and dry it with a towel.

5) Now, start painting!

front side

assembled back into the plastic bracket. You can either use the remaining gray rubber glue, or use your own crazy glue, or double sided tape to assemble it in place.

6) Back onto the trunk. Heat up that rubber glue with a blowdryer.
I used double sided tape to help the emblem stick back onto the trunk.

As you can see, the double sided tape is a bit bulgy, so the emblem sticks out a bit. I figured, meh, the remaining subaru rubber glue will be sufficient, so I took out the double sided tape. So now, the placement onto the trunk is back to normal. No bulginess
I haven't taken any updated pics after I removed the double sided tape yet, if you would like me to, i will do so.

Cheers~

not bad at all j-chow.
It's such an easy mod to do, and while subtle, looks so good.
