Forester Somone talk me out of trading my WRX in on a WS6

I really want to do some work on a domestic V8. I have had my fun with four cylinders, and think it may be time for a high power, heavy, RWD car. Some one talk some sense into me.

You live in Illinois. That's reason enough. Spring is here, then what?

Actually I'm in the same boat as you. I'm thinking a Cobra.

What he said.. GTO for the win. Or go old school V8.

I want a 68 Camaro SS. My dad had one and I'd like to get one and restore it.

Not a fan of the GTO at all actually. I like the WS6 becuase I can pick one up dirt cheap, and like the styling. It would be a project/weekend car to say the least. A big turbo or two might be fun

But, unless you turbo it or build a complete motor, it's not fast.

Again. My boss has 2 WS6's. They are loud and proud, and no doubt quick, but they are really heavy, and not accelerate nearly as fast as my stock STI.

He drove my stock STI and was trying to accelerate it like a WS6. I was in the back seat. He says "This thing is slow as ****"

I say "Yeah, we're doing 125, can you slow down?"

Him: "we are? ****!"

Yeah I am quite familiar with these. I would more than likely be building a LS7 for some serious forced induction. They are dogs from the factory.

why do people always want to get talked out of getting a car? If you want it get it, its that simple. Make your own decision for once. Want me to go hold your hand when you pick it up also?

You guys downtalk them so much, but they really aren't THAT slow. There are a lot of better options out there, however. Hell, get an old fox body and mod the **** out of that. You'll be way ahead money wise and have something that goes twice as fast. I mean, if that's all you are looking to do is find a domestic V8 to play with.

If you wanted to live on the Mild Side, I woud suggest Headers, Granetelli MAF, SLP airbox, Chambered Exhaust, maybe some swaybars and springs and a heavy duty clutch and about a grand for your annual rear tire budget.

That would still be fun.

lol,

DrinkAV8 is upset because we killed his clutch tuning his GT30R tonight. This poor clutch has about 8k on it and it can't hold, probably making about 340-350 whp. beforeit let go.

i can hear a w00t w00t for his stock tranny holding together.

I was unaware that the 3319 lb curb weight was heavy compared to the STI's 3298 lb curb weight.

Turning a 4th gen F-body into a 12 second daily driver isn't very hard to do, plus with the 6 speed many owners are getting over 30 MPG on the freeway.

If you wanna talk about loud and proud, go listen to a Mustang GT

If you get the WS6 you'll be very very dissappointed with its handling. Same with getting a Mustang.

If you want the musclecar status and still be able to handle then look into a C5 Corvette or the 98+ Camaro SS (both 300hp out of the box).

Yeah, heads and cam LS1's running 11.08's is slow compaired to a STi.

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/824151

Cam only 11 sec run in a GTO

I'm not going to start about the handeling of the WRX ... most everyone here already knows they handle like pigs until you put a suspension under them. Then the argument becomes which handles better with the most amount of money blah blah blah and there is no winner just internet posers.
