I bought one, and it's growing on me, but I definitely still prefer the look of my '05. Everything else about the new car, on the other hand...

Car and Driver has picked up the story (and interestingly, they're directing users to NASIOC for the pics)

http://www.caranddriver.com/autoshow...preza-wrx.html

Sounds like they're including a sedan version still. Power is 224/226.

I bet $$$$ the sedan is going to be looking nice - Subaru always comes out with something cool, the pictures are probably what will replace the WRX wagon as the article says. Still no pictures of the sedan tho...hmmm.

Supposedly the power/tq is lower in the RPMs too.

You guys are almost as bad as that first thread on the subject, it would do you some good to red the FAQ in the News and Rumors before you whine about something. For one what Impreza wagon has had fender flares? Not any in the past few years, but now don't get your hopes up on fender flares for the sedan, now that you can whine about.

So sad, looks like a Mazda mated with a PTCruiser from the fornt end.... or Ford has introduced a new Focus.

Simply not impressed.

That thing is fugly IMHO. And this is coming from a former bugeye WRX wagon owner. I hope the four door looks better. To much Mazda 3 body meets Chrysler grill. Yuk!

As much as I don't like it, I think we need to wait for it in sheetmetal form.

Also, for the Evo lovers... I'm a former Mitsubishi owner ('91 Stealth and '92 Talon) and that company SUCKS. Every year for the past many, their concept cars have been Turbo, AWD SUV/Crossover Concepts. Their dealing with warranty sucks, their parts are hard to get and expensive, and they don't have their own factory aftermarket parts available to the US. Not to say the Evo is a bad car, it is pretty awesome. But the company itself is no good and I would stay away for just that reason. I've already found that Subaru owners/the company seems to be better overall.

So I'll stick with my UGLY '03 and watch it as it develops

Seriously, if that is what they look like I hope they don't sell a single one so maybe they will learn their lesson about making cars look like butt. I will be sooooooooo dissapointed in Subaru. I'd rather drive an '89 GL Wagon than that thing.

Haha in your post the word Mazda comes up as an "Intellitext" pop-up/mouseover advertisement. And it's an ad displaying a Mazda 3 wagon and it's blue

I have never experienced that. They were able to get me a new power steering pump for an Evo in less than a day and they gave it to me for free even though they didn't have to (I broke it).

So? That doesn't really matter to most people seeing as there are a raft of aftermarket parts available from both JDM (Cusco, Tanabe, Espelir...) and USDM sources (Perrin, AMS, Buschur...) I honestly would never choose RalliArt parts over the ones I have on my car, not because they are inferior but they're all meant for rally homologation and carry a higher price because of that.

It's the dealerships you need to worry about, not the company. The company just makes the car and ships it, the dealerships are the point of contact for consumers and they're independently operated. Every car company has bad dealerships (look at Farrish). I use Alexandria Mitsubishi and they have always been fair to me and know that I modify and race my car. They're a good dealership and I haven't ever had an issue with them at all.

What do you mean by owners/company? That Subaru gets "better" people to buy their cars? I'm confused on that one.

I understand that...sorry for the wander OT.

I personally know a lot of Subaru guys (one is my twin brother) and a lot of Evo guys and I can't tell the difference.

Haha, so you understand how I feel about this prospect of the 2008?

Don't get me wrong, I will always support the brand as I believe they have some of the best vehicles on the market today. Most of the time, even if I don't like the new body styles I can at least see the progression from previous years. In this case, it just seems to come from waaaayyyy out in left field. I do not see their current customers supporting this new body style. I also think that prospective customers will not be too quick to jump on this either. It really reminds me of the Mazda, Ford Focus, etc... which I am not a fan of.

I agree with you Joe. I'm not going to buy either one, but I'm liking the Evo X more than the Mini-Nissan Murano.

That is for a new car. The one that was hard to find parts for was the Stealth/3000GT. The parts are being discontinued already so they are not cheap and easy to find. The Talon wasn't so bad because of the volume that was produced. I didn't have problems necessarily, but I am still active on the 3/S forum and that's what I hear.

Doesn't matter, that's true. But again, the 3S cars suck in this regard because there is little aftermarket support for them.

That is true, but I have heard that Mitsu has been voiding warranties after watching in the stands at drag races. The dealers haven't known anything about the 3S cars at all either, so it mainly is the dealer.

The DSM crowd is young and cheap and the 3S crowd is turning that way because of the lower and lower prices.

I didn't mean this as an attack, I meant it as an observation.

I think there will be a BIG aftermarket for replacement grilles. I hate to say it but with the grille replaced I don't mind it so much. Too bad it is going to take so long to get here as I need a car faster than that.
