STi turbo upgrade vs. wrx 06+ turbo upgrade

i am curious as to why an 18g is not recommended for an STi but it is for the newer wrxs(06+)?

Why is it not recommended? elaborate.

An 18g would be a good upgrade for an STi, but a WRX would be a very good upgrade when you consider a TD04 vs. VF39. I have a VF39 on mine and love it. If I could get my 60ft down below 2 sec I will be in the 12's with a VF39. I would have to say that is pretty good.

well i mean cobb made a map specifically for an 18g on the wrx. not so on the STi. everyone with an STi seems to opt for bigger. i also read that if your going to go with a 20g on an STi use the TDO6H because with TDO5 it seems to spike. so i was just wondering if there was a difference between the two engines where the wrxs wouldnt spike with the TDO5 and the STi does. sorry if this is confusing. i know what i mean its just hard to get it words right now.
