Default Does SPT Warranty Their Product?

I have an SPT catback on my car. The weld that connects the tip to the can is seperating. It isn't broken, nor did I do anything to pull it apart, but it's getting pretty bad. I hear a rattle coming from the exhaust and put some upward pressure on the tip to see where it was coming from. About 15 lbs of pressure was enough to seperate the tip enough to a. keep it from rattling, and b. show how poor the weld is... there really isn't much holding it on.

It's "genuine" SPT, not the unbranded bosal. To have this removed, re-welded, and refinished will get costly and time consuming. What are the chances of getting help from Subaru, SPT, or bosal? Please discuss.

Tittywop coming with daylight...

Parts warranties are often 1 year/12k miles; there should have been something in the paperwork along with the exhaust that specifies the warranty period. If you had it professionally installed, there should be another warranty by the installer; 1 year/12k miles would be good for that, but again you'll have to check the paperwork.

New Parts Only Limited Warranty

Subaru offers a limited warranty on select performance parts that features part only coverage for one year from date of purchase regardless of mileage.

Parts covered under this warranty include all Genuine Subaru Performance Parts that previously came with a Disclaimer of Warranties except STI Clutch Covers and Discs, Timing Belt, and Lightweight Flywheels. These items will continue to be offered with a Disclaimer of Warranties. All other Genuine Subaru Performance Parts will continue to be covered by the Limited Warranty for Genuine Subaru Replacement Parts and Accessories.

The performance parts in many cases fit a number of current as well as older model year vehicles, so owners can choose from a wide array of the most popular performance features for their vehicles. Details may be found on the Subaru Performance Tuning Web site www.spt.subaru.com and owners may purchase these parts at any Subaru dealership.
