Especially since the weather has finally become cold in New England, I have noticed that the car is starting slower than normal. I have 32,000 mile on what I assume to be an original battery. I think the plugs were changed at the 30,000 mile service, at least they should have been.
Don't get me wrong; the car starts but it turns a bit slower and seems to take longer to start...kind of like it is weezing and coughing to get going? Any suggestions? battery? plugs? wires? all the above?? thanks, Viv eidt: sorry, I realize this should have been in the service and mantainence forum.....

According to most of the threads I've read, this is "normal." Of course, just cause 20 people have the same problem doesn't mean it's not a problem. No real idea what causes it. Here's a couple of links:

I had the odd bad cold start with the same symptoms you describe, with 30,000 km on the car. I then changed the spark plugs to NGK's (I had the stock chumpions in before) - no more bad starts. The car starts better, runs smoother, well worth changing the plugs if you haven't already. Also, if you're going to be starting the car in really cold weather (less than -10 DegC), you should plug your car in before starting it (i.e. using a block heater). Just relaying my own experiences, hope this helps.
