Default Need car gone! places to advertise?

Ok, I just dropped my car down to $26,750 which is the NADA value (even though the new parts only have 3k miles). Ive put it on here, AKMS and craigs list. Also posted it up on base. Does anyone know of any other effective places I can post it? with IWSTi, you need to be a member for 90 days before you can sell anything and clubWRX wont let me post.

I hear that if you put it up in the anchorage daily news, it usually sells.. Ask Brian, i think. keep in mind, you gotta have the price right and the right buyer has to be looking.

Well my R6 sold cause of craigslist but the ad had been up for awhile. I would delete the old post and put a new one because people are lazy to scroll back a few days and search. ADN got me a few calls but not much. As for the WRX I sold it because of AKMS however, once the weekend paper hit many people buy one an thats when I had alot of calls. Overall, selling a car this season has been slow in general. Look at all the cars for sale on our buy, sell, trade thread, akms, ect. Numerous wrxs, gti, ect still for sale. You would figure with tax returns people would be buying but not really. Divident time is great though

I've been posting my car to Craigslist every other day. I did an add on cars.com (which has been worthless). I've also posted here, myspace, AKMS, and AKeuro. I'm going to post an add in the paper when I get back.

i think the thing with posting online (especially in vehicle forums) is most people already have what they want. i think, for alaska, the paper is the best idea as it will reach a big spectrum of people. because, hey, lets face it, most Alaskans don't know anything about 'the internet'.

I'm also going to make adds and put them up at Carrs, Fred Mayers, and other places with boards to put them on.

The last two times I used the Anch Daily News to try to sell a car, it was expensive and didn't accomplish too much.

Don't forget to check with Affordable for a quote. They discount the price but I have found them to be pretty good to deal with. Last car I sold, I played around for 9 months trying to get $12 or 13K for it, probably spent $400 on ads & $250 on detailing. Finally took it to Affordable and walked out in 30 minutes with $11K.

Good luck.

Advertised the Evo for free on various local forums but AK USA FCU classifieds was the quickest response and it sold the following day!

Yes I did

Also to add- If you put it on the park and sell lot you have to have full coverage insurance on the vehicle. Also, you only receive trade in value for your car. I went to the Dimond and Dowling ones and they were giving me only trade in on my WRX and i said to hell with that. Thats the hard part with buying a new vehicle. Unless you have the money to hold on to multiple vehicles you have to get rid of one first. The STi may be a extremly popular vehicle to buy but it does take a devoted buyer to want to fish out money for one. Can never expect to sell such a car fast. Just does not happen, takes time... and patience..

mine sold from craigslist, I used ADN for the legacy and didnt get any bites. It truely is the right medium and the right buyer. Criaglist worked well for me and I only had to wait a couple weeks.

Affordable is who bought my old legacy from me.

Our old Impreza wagon sold in about a day on ADN, but that was a sub 8k car, not an STi. Good luck.

Minimaul, if you're looking to post on boards, try the Sagayas and Moose's Tooth, but they take them all down once a week so you have to do it weekly til it sells.
