Default Warantee & Guages

Will installed guages void my warantee ? Reason is I'm about to go rotated mount and I wanted to put her back stock and have the dealer giver here a thorough checkup 1st , but I don't want to remove the guages, the FMIC and exhaust will be enough work

Won't void any warranty but may restrict warranty in certain areas if you happen to have an issue the wiring (etc) of the guages caused or influenced.

Thanks for the reply , the funny thing is , all the factory wires I used showed evidence of being previously tapped ( I was the 1st owner ) go figure . Guess I'll remove them

Thorough checkup for what? What kind of issues if any? Do you plan on getting this for free or expecting to pay for a technician to look at a car with no problems?

I have $30,000 + reasons to ask for a free waranteed checkup . Check the engine for any issues ,timing , low CR etc.

....just keep in mind that simply removing modifications will not guarantee (in the event a problem is found) that it will be covered under warrantee. Techs typically know what to look for (i.e. telltale signs of abuse and/or previously installed aftermarket components). In fact, they may be suspicious of your motives if they see you reverted the car back to stock prior to bringing it in for the inspection.

You seem confused or misinformed. Just because you paid for the car, doesn't mean they will just go looking for things wrong internally with the engine and trans. They can do a simple 27 point inspection of fluids, brakes, and maintenance items.

They not test engine compression, timing or any internal issues, etc for free or under warranty. They will do that for you for a fee that you will be required to pay. It is not free as warranty is used to replace parts that have failed, not try and find an issue that isn't there.

The warranty pays for a customers concern of a specific issue, not for a customer to come in and say, find something wrong with my car, and cover it under warranty. I am sorry it doesn't work that way. Technicians get paid to fix cars, not screw around. If you don't have a concern that is pressing(I mean a real noticable issue), then don't waste the service departments time. Chances are, they wont even look at it, and tell you it is ok and move on to a "paying" customer with real issues.

I am not degrading what you want done, but being very honest on how things work.

^^^ correct. If you want a multi point inspection, compression test, you are going to have to pay for it.

In addition the OP knows full well that he has voided his power train warranty by modifying the engine to produce additional power. However, he still feels justified in receiving 'free' work on his car. People who just don't get it anger me.

Exactly.

I own 2 muscle cars that I have modded and waited for the warranty to expire.

Wow , you guys are acting like I'm planning on commiting a federal crime or something . I don't want to go off topic , but dealers aren't saint's either . I feel I paid for the right to say , I hear a funny noise in my engine , and they should check it because I said so , that's what I initially paid for . I miss my MERC , they check every dam thing when your car goes in for servicing

That was not in your original post. yes some dealers aren't saints and neither are customers. I have had my fair share of customer who tried to get over on us and got caught.

If you have an issue, then go in there and tell them that. If they can't duplicate the concern, then accept the fact then. However, don't expect them to do anything else for you to check the car over without paying for it

Is there a funny noise in your engine? You shoud let us know what dealer will not say ''cant hear anything by now"

You also modded the crap out of the car, so if there is a funny noise in your engine you should be paying for it.

.....this is now begining to resemble the multitude of other warranty complaint threads in this forum. What I said earlier will definitely ring true if you're bringing it in for a potential problem with the engine.
