Default Legacy to S2000?

hey guys

i dont know if i should change my car to (2002+ S2000)

currently driving a 05 legacy

some of my frds told me to keep the legacy (is 4 door, newer and looks better?, more mature)

but some other told me to change to S2000 (convertible, 6 speed, better handling, faster, more "young" looking car) and i need to put couple more thousands for it

what do you guys think?

If you can afford both, get both.

I love the S2, and want to get one because the prices have just dropped so much.

I'd take the S2 and get my parents to take the Legacy off your hands.

I had a supercharged drop-top 2 seater, and I loved it. But daily things, such as getting groceries etc were a PITA.

2002 S2k is ew.
I like the LED tails on the 04 S2000.

But if it was me who's making the decision I'd keep the Legacy.
Think about this, 4 doors, 5 seat capacity, AWD, more convenient, more space, comfortable interior, and more advaced interior.

But S2k will have his advantages too!
It's lighter, Vtec, but how does the gas miles do?

I was about to choose a 04 S2k over my Type-R. But I kinda regret that I didn't!

Good luck with your decision, Kelvin! I hope you don't leave us!

There's ney'er a sexier car on the roads than the S2k in its price range...

Legacy FTW....

Unless you want to dominate A-stock at auto-x with a 2004+ S2000

you own a legacy base.. if you had the GT then I would say keep the GT... but s2000 is a much nicer car IMO.. quick and very good handling... very nice looking cars when done up properly..

I'd stick with the legacy, much more comfortable ride vs. the S2000.

And easier to live with too. you'll have a backseat and a big trunk for your stuff and low end TORQUE

With our funky weather, having AWD is a bit more comforting too.

AND above all, you can save that couple thousand for other stuff like more booze, electronics or a hobby.. or upgrades for your legacy.

You can buy a nice katana for that price

If thats the case, I'd get the S2 (based on your age). With a Vortech supercharger, you actually get some decent mid-range power. I love the look and interior of the S2, but it was pretty lame to drive until you hit VTEC and/or tossing around corners with RWD.

It should be okay depending on how its driven and maintained. If anything, he'd be looking to replace his differential.

A blown S2K runs close to 110-115mph trap speed at mid-high 12s.

That makes Derek happy.

Haha, your post about his parents paying for cars was just as much off topic Girn...don't try to be a Moderator now.

He was asking S2000 vs. Legacy...not asking if his parents should buy him both, or buy an RSX or something.

I know it's not one of the choices, but why not an STI? You can fit more of your friends in one than in the S2000.

Hmmm I'd go for S2k . . . performance wise.
This is Base Legacy vs S2k we're talking about right?
Not the Legacy GT?
If it were the GT, keep it.

But then again, remember how much it rains here in BC, and how much it snows. Think your S2k can handle that? :P
Just a headz up thought.

+1234 ya this is the car (STi) that has power that the s2000 has and it also has seats for four peps.... best of both worlds... atleast if you get a two seater get a real car like a 95 Toy supra twinn turbo 6 spd. It was my first choice over the Sti then I realized I need to go up to the mountians and have kids one day.

Apples and oranges. If you don't need a backseat and lots of trunk space and snow traction, get the S2000. If you do need those things, stay with the Legacy.

In terms of overall performance, it's no comparison. If you're baller, wait for the S2000 CR to come out. 20 more hp and 200 less pounds.

S2k isn't exactly a friendly daily driver and if you're using it as a daily driver you really shouldn't think of getting a 2 seater roadster. The S2k is really more of a weekend 2nd car kinda thing and if you can afford to run it as a 2nd car great but if not then you really need to realize that yeah it'll look cool, go fast, and stuff, but like Derek said earlier all the stuff you do throughout the day will be a total PITA.
