Default Converting my GC to RWD

Well, the title says it all, but I was wondering if someone had a good enough reason for me to not do it. Someone told me I should specifically ask Fat Tits, who did it before. I know the steps to take to do it, and it doesn't seem like it's going to take more than a few hours. Sooo....input please.

Good enough reason not to do it?

Because you can buy a decent Nissan 240 and save yourself a lot of trouble.

If you want RWD, why did you get a Subaru? Does this car already have a ton of work into it?

If you do it, you might want to switch over to an 06-07 R180 diff and axels as they are much stonger than your stock set-up. You'll end up breaking your stock rear once you start putting 100% of your power there.

I have the 06-07 STi diff and axels along with 04 STi hubs for a direct swap.

GC to RWD.....

it should be GC to 4WD! FTW!

It says you have a type R. Do you have the R/RA trans in your car? or is it just motor?

As far as doin up the rear, yeah its easy. yeah you will blow out your rear diff in like 3.2 seconds. Unfortuantly, the rear that was in Fat Tits car along with the center diff was my stock RS set. We really didnt think it was goin to go that quick but it did.

I highly suggest if you are goin to do something like this make sure that you get a R200 rear from a 240 or 300zx and put that in there for your rear. Axles might need to get changed out as well with a R200. idk.

Yo i live down the street from you. Wanna see this type R you got!

It says "candidate" in the profile Billy, settle down. ;P

For serious ID, get a 240 or a 300 cause it already has the R200 rear in it.

Why would you want an RWD Subaru anyway? What is the application?

Ya, as interesting as this project sounds......if you want a RWD car i'd just buy a 240 or something.

Yea, I was planning on the r200...from my leftover 240 parts car nonetheless. It isn't as big a deal as everyone things, but I wanted to do something a little different, you know. I'm getting the STi swap for the same year, and the RA gearset with it. I've had 14 240s, never had a rwd subie Still contemplating though. I've been thinking the rally-esque route lately, and I'm not sure if I wanna let that go yet. Next week should see either the rwd swap or the cage and underbody protection work done, depending on which way I'm going.
