Axle questions, 04 sti axles vs 03 wrx axles, help!

So I washed my car today and noticed black grease on the inside of my driver front wheel. I have a 04 sti swap, 6mt, axles, driftshaft, etc but here is my question. The axle boot is obviously ripped and ill need a new one. I do have a set of 03 wrx axles in my garage, which will directly bolt up. So here is the question, should I go to the dealer and buy 1 sti axle, or swap out my front axles back to wrx axles? I know the sti axles are obviously thicker, but is it going to factor in that much? If not i'd like to try and save money.

Does anyone know what it would cost for a 04 sti driver front side axle?

Does anyone have one of these axles lying around for me to purchase?

haha! It's not soo much that, it's just I have to spend close to $1000 this month alone to hit all the shows and stuff, plus I just ordered alot of parts.

I'm postive wrx axles will fit, what im wondering is will it make that much of a difference in strength compared to the sti axles?

So maybe the axle boot isn't ripped. I think the clip may have came off. If I take the axle to Subaru, they should be able to install the new clip with that special tool, right?

I really hope the boot isn't ripped!!!! I can't find an sti axle anywhere!

I'm pretty sure that's what it is. The inside part of my fender well had more grease then my wheel did. I'm going to take it off tomorrow after school and make sure. I'm crossing my fingers that it is the clip!
