Smile which amp fits the wagon behind the rear seat in the frontmost storage area??

i'm planning on getting a duffman box with a 10" kicker solobarics. I even pick out the Kenwood KAC-8152D to power the sub, but i did some measurements today, and don't think the amp will fit in the storage area. I searched for other possible locations to mount the amp, like under the driver or pass. seat, but i just don't think it'll work for me. I can't mount the amp on the back of the back seat cos i use my trunk a lot, so i need the trunk to be free of stuff, that's why i want to use the duffman box and mount the amp in the storage area. I search on the forum and saw 1 post about someone actually have an amp in the storage area, but the amp isn't what i'm looking for. I'm looking for a mono amp that's 500~600 watts rms at 2 ohms.....i was hoping people who put their amp in that area can tell me wat amp they use and maybe showing a picture or two so i can have a better idea. all help is appreciated. For people who donno which "storage area" i'm talking about.....this picture should explane it
(thanks sedeuce)

If you do find an amp to fit your needs, consider one that has the terminals on the ends, less wireing nighmares

to put an amp in that area you'll need to hack up the foam. You'll need to find an amp that is around 2 inches tall or shorter in order to fit the amp under the cover. Another area that is a possibility is the driver side area from next to the wheel well back to where the jack is. Again you'll need to cut the foam to mount an amp there.
As for the duffman sub, be prepared to do some fiberglass work if you get it. I got the duffman sub off ebay with a memphis audio sub that duffman recommended and hooked it up to a cheapy sony amp that suppossedly puts out 200 watts rms. Anyways, after about a week, it started sounding all nasty and when I checked the box I realized that due to the way the box was constructed, the bottom piece was starting to come off and every time the bass hits the piece would move...anyway, had to put some fiberglass matt and resin on both the inside and outside of the box...but I don't think that sucker is going to be moving around any time soon.

Looks like you already found option 1.

Here's another option.

And another option.

cos i live at a place that snows a lot, and sometimes i have people in the back seat, so i don't want my amp to get kicked at or short circuit due to water or watever.

so you wouldn't sugget me getting the box?? I don't mind cutting up some foam as long as the trunk space is free of stuff.

i'm considering the option that puts the amp right next to the spare tire and found an amp that'll fit, but it's only 400 watts rms......and i donno if it's gonna be loud enough since the sub and the box is gonna be under the false floor.....

I'm not saying don't get the duffman box. I'm just saying that if you do get it, you might have to fix it down the road(after fiberglassing mine, I don't think I'll have any more problems with it).

As for whether 400 watts is enough, I guess you won't really know unless you can find someone that has that setup and go have a listen.

Keep me updated on what you decide to do and how it comes out. I'd be interested to see what you think of the setup

i heard the setup at circuit city and it sounds pretty decent....but i was next to the sub and the box is ported........i donno how it sounds under the false floor and all.......

pwu_1: did you contact duffman about your problem?? cos i donno how to fiberglass and i don't want to spend another $200~300 to get it reinforced when it start rattling....

I put mine in the compartment right above the spare tire. Fits perfectly.

No, I did not contact duffman. I figured even if he agreed to warranty it I'd have to ship that thing from california back to him and that would probably cost the same or more than fixing it myself. I think I spent about 30-40 dollars for the stuff needed to fix it myself. That was my first time fiberglassing too...the result didn't look pretty but I was able to fix the problem though.

gonna put it right next to the sub box like this...
