Subaru Road Racing Team Builds on Last Year’s Success in the Grand- Am Series

Team to Debut Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT spec. B Sedans in the 2007 Grand-Am Koni Challenge Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Mid-April

ICY/Phoenix Racing takes the Subaru Road Racing Team to the Homestead-Miami road course in mid-April to pick up where it left off last year. In its debut as the Subaru Road Racing Team, ICY/Phoenix Racing used their years of experience to prepare and enter
a Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Wagon in three Grand-Am venues, where the team met with considerable success. The team drove the Legacy Wagon to 6that Lime Rock, 9th at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and 2nd at Barber Motorsports Park – comprising three solid top-10 finishes including a podium.

Between them, ICY/Phoenix Racing partners Dave Rosenblum and Joe Aquilante take more than 70 years of experience to Homestead-Miami. They will field two Legacy 2.5 GT spec. B cars, piloted by Rosenblum, Kristian Skavnes, and Chuck Hemmingson.

Last season, ICY/Phoenix Racing celebrated another winning year. The three team drivers finished the season with 12 national SCCA Club Racing wins, seven lap records, two divisional titles, and the premier SCCA National Championship.

Looking forward to the Grand-Am Koni Challenge, the team considers the Legacy 2.5 GT spec. B Sedan extremely capable and looks forward to proving the car’s competitiveness through a limited schedule within the remaining races in the Koni Challenge schedule. Starting at Homestead-Miami on April 15-17, they expect to see Grand-Am action at Laguna Seca, Lime Rock, Mid-Ohio, Watkins Glen, and Miller Motorsports Park.
